Description

The company offers the company models through cloud service providers, letting developers use them where they already build and run software. The team works with Go-to-Market (GTM), Product, Engineering, and Finance to find which customers can be reached through these providers and what helps them move from a first API call to a production workload.

In your first few months, you will pick a customer segment or workload with room to grow, recommend an investment to GTM, Product, and Engineering, and set the measure for whether it brought new usage. Your first task is to explain what drives usage and revenue across providers, then use that to guide GTM on which customers and workloads to back and to build forecasts the team can plan against.

A customer may sign a large cloud commitment but send very little traffic. You can work with the account team, trace the customer's first requests, and determine whether they need help getting started, a different model, or more capacity. If the same opportunity appears across several customers, your findings can shift where the company invests.

Responsibilities

  • Build a dependable picture of the business from provider usage reports, billing records, and API logs, showing how new workloads, expansion, price changes, and shifts in model mix affect growth.
  • Estimate how much demand cloud distribution adds. Trace activity across channels to separate new use cases from traffic moved over from the direct API.
  • Find where customers are ready to scale by combining account team feedback with data on request failures, latency, and model availability. Partner with Product and Engineering on changes and measure their effect on usage.
  • Work with GTM and Finance to build growth plans: estimate what current workloads and upcoming launches can add by year end, test the assumptions that matter most, and recommend where to focus with each provider.
  • Own the consumption forecast. Compare it with actual usage for the same period, explain the largest misses, and apply those lessons to the next forecast.

Requirements

  • You have led data science work on a product, growth, or commercial question that changed a business decision.
  • You have strong SQL and Python skills. You can combine incomplete datasets, pick the right unit of analysis, and check an aggregate result against individual customers or workloads.
  • You have used cohorts, experiments, or observational comparisons to find what drove a change. You can explain how customer selection shapes a conclusion and assess a forecast against a simple baseline.
  • Preferred: experience with API platforms, cloud marketplaces, enterprise GTM, or a usage-based business.
  • Preferred: experience linking service reliability or capacity to customer adoption, or using demand forecasts to guide a commercial or infrastructure investment.
