Data Science Program Lead I - Oncology

Description

You will join the Data Science team, a group in the company's peer set that combines people, processes and technology to turn clinical trial data into business value. The team is measured on how well it executes and innovates.

This Program Lead I role in oncology helps the Data and Statistical Sciences group deliver the program and study goals it has been given.

Responsibilities

• Match the DSS study teams to program and study strategies. On assigned studies, lead the DSS study team and act as Data Science's representative on the cross-functional study team.
• Serve as the single point of contact and accountable operational lead from DSS on assigned studies. Align the related DSS study teams to hit operational targets and connect with global functional and cross-functional groups.
• Shape decisions across cross-functional colleagues, without direct authority, to reach program and study objectives.
• Use operational analytics and project management tools to run programs and studies efficiently, manage internal and external resources, track progress and write status reports. Spot issues that could threaten timelines or quality early, and propose options and fixes.
• Make sure work follows federal and local regulations, Good Clinical Practice, ICH guidelines, company SOPs and functional quality standards. Keep up with changing local rules, guidance and policies on clinical development.
• Help oversee vendors by giving feedback on study operations, problems and performance trends.
• Coach and mentor Data Science Associates. This may include indirect oversight of contract staff.
• Take part in DSS and cross-functional innovation and process improvement work.
• Share lessons learned from study execution with other functions.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, computer science, life sciences or an equivalent field is required. A master's degree is preferred. PMP certification or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is desired.
• You must have at least 3 years in pharma, clinical research, data management or health care, or at least 5 years in project management, plus relevant work experience.
• A strong grasp of the clinical trial process and clinical technology is needed. Experience running a trial from start to finish is preferred.
• You have shown effective leadership.
• You have shown you can influence others without direct authority.
• You communicate effectively.
• You have strong analytical skills.

Conditions

Pay disclosure applies in locations covered by state or local law. The base pay range is the company's good-faith estimate at the time of posting, based on the job grade. Actual pay depends on factors such as location and may fall above or below the range, and the range may change.

This role is eligible for the company's short-term incentive programs. Any bonus, commission, incentive or other compensation or benefit is at the company's sole discretion until it is paid, and may change in line with the law.
