Data Science Program Lead I - Oncology

Description

The Data Science team at the company handles clinical trial data, combining people, processes and technology to produce business value. This role helps the Data and Statistical Sciences group deliver on program-level and study-level goals.

The posting is for an oncology program.

Responsibilities

• Align DSS study teams with program and study strategies. On assigned studies, lead the DSS study team and act as Data Science's representative on the cross-functional study team.
• On assigned studies, serve as the single point of contact and the accountable operational lead from DSS. Coordinate the related DSS study teams to hit operational goals, and build connections with global functional and cross-functional teams.
• Influence cross-functional colleagues to reach program and study objectives, even without direct authority over them.
• Use operational analytics and project management tools to run programs and studies efficiently, manage internal and external resources, track study progress and write status reports. Spot issues that could threaten timelines or quality early, and propose options and fixes.
• Make sure work follows federal and local regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCPs), ICH Guidelines, company SOPs and functional quality standards. Keep up with changing local regulations, guidelines and policies on clinical development.
• Help oversee vendors and give feedback on study operations, problems and performance trends.
• Coach and mentor Data Science Associates. This may include indirectly supervising contract resources.
• Take part in DSS and cross-functional innovation and process improvement efforts.
• Share lessons learned from study execution with other functions.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, computer science, life sciences or an equivalent field is required. A master's degree is preferred. A PMP certification or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is desirable.
• You need 3+ years of experience in pharma, clinical research, data management or health care, or 5+ years of project management experience, and/or other relevant work experience.
• A strong grasp of the clinical trial process and clinical technology. Experience running a trial from start-up to close-out is preferred.
• Proven leadership skills.
• A proven ability to influence people without direct authority.
• Proven communication skills.
• Proven analytical skills.

The base pay range below is the company's good-faith estimate for this role based on its job grade. Actual pay within the range depends on factors such as location, and may fall above or below it. The range may change over time.

This job is eligible for the company's short-term incentive programs.
