Description

Budapest, hybrid.

The company helps ambitious brands grow faster, combining technology and marketing. Its 4,000+ specialists work across Brand & Media, Experience, Commerce, CRM, and Technology & Data, with a 50/50 split between tech and marketing and a partner-led approach.

Clients include Google, Lufthansa, Meta, eBay and OpenAI. The company has been a certified B Corp and Climate Neutral since 2021.

This is a four-month on-the-job traineeship in the Data Engineering team. You start on day one and are on real client projects within your first few weeks.

Over the four months you get three things: live work for brands such as Philips, Foot Locker, Nikon and Rituals, with growing ownership each month; applied masterclasses on the tools and patterns used with clients, taught by the company's engineers; and a senior engineer as your buddy, who plans your week with you, reviews your work and tracks your progress. By month four you work much like a junior data engineer.

You join the Data Engineering team in the EMEA Data & AI craft, based in Budapest alongside the lead and senior data engineer. The team builds scalable, reliable data platforms and pipelines for enterprise clients across Europe and works closely with analytics, data science and AI colleagues on joint solutions. Your code runs in client environments, and experienced engineers review it while helping you develop.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain pipelines that ingest, transform and model client data, under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Write clean, tested SQL and Python.
  • Create data models in cloud warehouses such as BigQuery or Snowflake, using dbt.
  • Help schedule and monitor workflows with tools such as Airflow.
  • Add data quality checks, tests and documentation so others can rely on and reuse your work.
  • Work within a team using Git, code reviews and CI/CD.
  • Explain your work to colleagues and clients.

Requirements

  • A degree in computer science, data science, engineering, mathematics or a related field, or one you will complete before February 2027.
  • Some experience in data, software or analytics engineering, such as a student job, an internship or up to about one year of full-time work.
  • Solid SQL and working knowledge of Python.
  • Understanding of data modeling basics and ETL/ELT concepts.
  • Exposure to at least one cloud platform (GCP, AWS or Azure) from work, coursework or personal projects.
  • Familiarity with Git.
  • Clear written and spoken English, with the ability to explain technical work simply.
  • Preferable: agency background.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, Airflow or Spark.
  • Familiarity with Docker or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Comfort working in a macOS environment.
  • A cloud certification.
  • Projects you can show us, such as a GitHub repository.
