This role is a hands-on algorithm position within that work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research, design, development and implementation of algorithmic modules.
  • Assess concept and feasibility for classical and ML/DL computer vision algorithms, covering problem analysis, data gathering, literature review, concept selection and evaluation, and implementation limits.
  • Build and assess computer vision and machine learning or deep learning algorithms for defect detection, defect classification, metrology and image analysis on a semiconductor process control tool.
  • Study the literature and prototype approaches to hard problems, starting from the customer's use cases.
  • Work with compute infrastructure, software, systems and applications teams to turn new algorithm solutions into products that meet defined specifications.
  • Run concept and feasibility studies, validate algorithms and benchmark them on large datasets to show that data-driven approaches work.
  • Write and maintain optimized, production-quality code, and work with software teams to integrate algorithms into the inspection tool.
  • Improve algorithm performance by making efficient use of compute resources.

Requirements

  • Have experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Have a strong background in computer vision, image processing and deep learning.
  • Be expert in C/C++ and Python, with working experience in TensorFlow, PyTorch or a similar framework.
  • Know GPU programming with CUDA or OpenCL.
  • Have working knowledge of AI coding tools (desired).
  • Have an academic background in computer vision, deep learning, machine learning or artificial intelligence.
  • Bring strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills, plus strong interpersonal communication.
  • Hold a newly completed Ph.D. or a Master's degree with 4+ years of experience, in computer science, electrical engineering or a similar field.

Conditions

Full-time, regular assignee role based in Santa Clara, CA.

Salary range: $184,000.00 - $253,000.00.

Pay depends on location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity with current team members.
