Description

The company builds collaboration and AI-powered workflow software for military planning and operational coordination.

Military planning means coordinating information, people and decisions across systems and locations. The product combines planning, collaboration, simulation and AI in one connected environment, so teams can test strategies, adjust to changing conditions and decide with more clarity when the stakes are high.

The team is spread out and made up of builders with military, operational and technology backgrounds. Some members work remotely, while others work on site with customers in operational settings around the world.

Founded in 2019, the company is backed by General Catalyst, Battery Ventures, Insight Partners, Sapphire Ventures and Human Capital. It is valued at more than $2 billion and keeps investing in product, AI and team growth.

This role sits where engineering meets mission work. You will deploy the simulation platform into real military training settings, including Secret and air-gapped systems, and configure, extend, troubleshoot and improve it alongside customers. You might support live exercises, adapt simulations, or make sure the software holds up under pressure.

You are the final link between the simulation technology and the warfighter.

Success in the first six months typically means you can deploy and support the platform on your own in assigned customer environments with reliable performance during live exercises, turn customer needs and field observations into actionable product feedback and technical improvements, and build trusted customer relationships through clear communication and effective technical support.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure and support the platform in live military training environments, including classified and air-gapped systems. Extend entities, features, behaviors, sensors and scenarios with the platform's tooling and scripts so they match real requirements.
  • Work onsite with customers at Fort Belvoir to learn their operational needs, iterate with users and make deployments succeed. Turn field friction into actionable product and engineering feedback, adding military context and operational priorities so engineers can rank their work.
  • Connect the platform to partner systems by configuring and debugging APIs, networking, infrastructure dependencies and connectivity. Fix problems in real time during high-visibility exercises, sometimes in front of large audiences, and ship technical fixes so the software runs well ahead of upcoming customer exercises.
  • Outside active exercises, find and build improvements from the enhancement backlog, working with the software engineering team on engineering backlog items in Godot, C++, C and Python.
  • Explain complex capabilities clearly to military stakeholders, partners and internal teams. Engage key stakeholders constructively and answer hard questions with clarity and professionalism.
  • Improve documentation, deployment processes and repeatability so deployments scale and customers keep succeeding over time.
  • Travel occasionally to support customer engagements and operational exercises.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting or another customer-facing engineering role involving hands-on development.
  • Proven record of writing and maintaining production-quality software in one or more languages such as C++, C, Python, GDScript or similar.
  • Experience troubleshooting software systems, integrations, networking or distributed applications, and explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Able to work independently in fast-moving, ambiguous settings while collaborating closely with customers and engineering teams.
  • Prior military experience and an active Secret security clearance.
  • Willing and able to work onsite at Fort Belvoir daily and travel to other sites about 20% of the time.
  • Preferred: experience presenting or teaching technical concepts to large groups.
  • Preferred: experience in modeling, simulation, game engines or defense-related systems.

Conditions

Onsite at Fort Belvoir every day.

Travel to other sites about 20% of the time.
