The Audio Solutions team manages and improves audio quality across the company, working in advanced audio labs, building new audio products and working directly with customers in the field.

This role is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on a team building two-way radio platforms for wireless speech communication.

Responsibilities

  • Keep core audio technologies and processing algorithms reliable and high quality across different hardware.
  • Help design new audio signal processing and machine learning methods.
  • Help design and build new signal paths that adjust noise suppression, microphone gain, wind porting and speaker equalization in real time, with speech intelligibility as the priority.
  • Measure product performance using speech clarity and intelligibility metrics.
  • Run lab and field tests that measure speech intelligibility, frequency response and acoustic distortion in high-noise environments.
  • Work with human factors and business teams to judge how customers perceive the value of new audio technologies.

Requirements

  • Required: a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering, audio engineering, computer science, acoustics or a related field, plus 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Required, as an alternative: a Master's degree in acoustics, computer science, electrical engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Desired: foundational skill in MATLAB or Python programming.
  • Desired: working knowledge of C or C++.
  • Desired: experience writing and optimizing digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms.
  • Desired: hands-on experience with modern AI development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or Devin.
  • Desired: a practical understanding of basic sound physics, speaker and microphone mechanics, and foundational psychoacoustic concepts.
  • Desired: hands-on use of industry-standard digital audio workstations, such as Adobe Audition, Audacity or other audio editing tools.
  • Desired: theoretical grounding and practical familiarity with machine learning frameworks and data-driven models applied to audio processing.
  • Desired: ability to produce clear documentation, specifications and reports in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office 365.
  • Desired: ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams on complex technical problems.
  • Desired: a self-starter who takes initiative on ambiguous problems and drives solutions.
  • Desired: an optimistic, solution-oriented attitude when dealing with change, tight deadlines or shifting project requirements.
  • Desired: an open-minded approach to feedback, project adjustments and evolving technical requirements.
