About this role

Team Overview

The company SMA Solutions helps clients customize portfolios for unique tax, values-alignment, or investment exposures across direct indexing, fixed income, active equity, and multi-asset. We deliver world-class service to all of our clients, from wealth advisors to family offices to endowments and foundations.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Technical Project Manager to support the delivery of cross‑functional, product and platform focused initiatives critical to the growth and operational excellence of our core products and services. This role is ideal for someone who is a problem-solver, execution‑oriented, technically fluent, and comfortable operating in complex technology and business domains.

You will work closely with engineering, product, and cross‑functional partners to help move initiatives from planning through execution. You will play a meaningful role in driving progress, maintaining alignment, and ensuring teams have the structure and visibility they need to deliver.

Responsibilities

  • Support and drive cross‑functional technical and product initiatives through planning, execution, delivery, and post‑launch follow‑up
  • Provide hands‑on project support across the software development lifecycle, including planning, dependency tracking, progress monitoring, risk identification, incident management, and stakeholder communications
  • Partner with engineering, product, and operations to maintain strong collaboration and clear communication across teams
  • Help manage timelines, dependencies, and competing priorities across multiple teams and initiatives
  • Instrument and monitor program health using metrics and derived insights
  • Facilitate agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives for one or more teams
  • Contribute to improving processes, documentation, and workflows to increase execution speed, visibility, and team effectiveness
  • Use tooling, automation, and AI‑assisted workflows where appropriate to support planning, reporting, and documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 3–5+ years of experience working with software engineering teams in a technical program management, project management, software development, or similar role
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile delivery methodologies
  • Experience coordinating cross‑functional work with multiple stakeholders and dependencies
  • Proficiency with tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Airtable, and AI-enabled tools used throughout the planning and delivery phases of projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern software development practices, languages and frameworks
  • Experience working in investment management / wealth management
