Description

You will join the Global Research, Informatics and Platform Solutions team in the Information Research Division. The team builds data management and decision support tools that help research and development run more efficiently and effectively for internal clients.

Working under leadership direction, you will support several groups in Research and Discovery. Your work covers building visualizations, transforming and capturing data, and helping end users, and you will also help document data flows and gather requirements.

This cross-functional role puts you in direct contact with discovery scientists and technology stakeholders. The goal is better data capture, clearer visualizations and stronger decisions.

The company develops medicines in immunology, oncology and neuroscience, and also offers aesthetics products.

Responsibilities

  • Talk with scientists across Discovery teams to learn how their workflows and data flows work, and collect their requirements.
  • Design and build technology solutions that integrate, visualize and analyze complex data from several platforms, including omics, biomarker and preclinical safety data.
  • Recognize why capturing data correctly matters, and combine datasets in a sound way.
  • Work hands-on with scientists on their dashboards and other technical needs.
  • Apply strong skills in Python and SQL, plus other tools, for data storage, transfer, integration, visualization and analytics.
  • Handle several projects at once, some of which may be very different from each other.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree.
  • A background in life sciences, biology or an equivalent field is required.
  • A team player who can work well with discovery scientists and IT partners.
  • Strong Python programming skills, with other modern languages a possible plus, and solid experience with visualization and pipelining tools such as Spotfire or similar.
  • An understanding of the software development process and familiarity with CI/CD tools.
  • Excellent communication skills for working across functions and training others. You must be able to document and present technical solutions to non-technical audiences, with strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
  • Familiarity with modern data science and AI techniques, and a desire to keep building your technical and scientific knowledge.
  • The ability to work independently, juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A self-motivated learner who thinks clearly and likes to get hands-on.
