Description

The structured finance analytics team supports the global structured finance rating teams in North America, Europe and APAC. Inside it, the data analytics group converts complicated data into dependable analysis, repeatable workflows and insights that support decisions. The aim is to run operations more efficiently, lower operational risk and build stronger analytical abilities.

This assistant vice president role suits someone with structured finance ratings background who has a track record of using data, technology and process change to move work forward across ratings, operations and technology teams.

You will bring together structured finance knowledge, data, technology and change management. That means spotting valuable opportunities with rating teams, helping define requirements, overseeing delivery and getting solutions into everyday structured finance analysis.

Major workstreams include assessing and bringing data from the company's credit data lake into its credit data hub, building shared or customised analytical outputs with Tableau or Python, and setting up durable support, governance and quality assurance structures.

The job is cross-functional. You will run projects, form strong working relationships with rating teams, credit operations and credit technology, and turn business needs into workable technical solutions. You will also help the team use approved AI tools responsibly, including GitHub Copilot and Copilot Studio, with suitable human review and controls.

You will see many structured finance asset classes and jurisdictions and work with senior stakeholders worldwide. You can shape how data, technology and automation improve analytical quality, operational effectiveness and innovation across global structured finance.

The team is part of the global structured finance ratings business and works across regions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic data analytics initiatives across global structured finance, covering discovery, requirements, implementation and support after launch.
  • Set priorities and design the work so it can be delivered.
  • Work with rating teams to understand their analytical needs, find solutions that scale and help them adopt those solutions across asset classes and regions.
  • Coordinate with credit operations, credit technology and other partners to agree requirements, manage dependencies and risks, and deliver the agreed results.
  • Coach and develop other data analytics colleagues through objective setting, feedback and chances to take on growth and ownership.
  • Assess large structured datasets for quality and fitness for purpose, and guide their use in governed analytical workflows.
  • Build dashboards, automated analysis and presentation layers in Tableau, Python or other approved tools.
  • Create and maintain strong governance for data analytics, covering process flows, data dictionaries, documentation, testing, change control, quality controls and support models.
  • Deliver scalable solutions that cut operational costs and risk and extend analytical capability, balancing global standards with asset-class and regional needs.
  • Experiment with approved AI tools, making sure outputs are reviewed, validated and used in line with applicable policy.
  • Report progress, decisions, risks and outcomes clearly to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Make sure all work follows credit rating policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and internal controls.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of structured finance experience.
  • Proven experience leading complex data, analytics, process improvement or technology-driven change from concept through to implementation.
  • Experience bringing large structured datasets into business or analytical processes, with a solid grasp of data quality, controls and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of analysis and visualisation tools such as SQL, Tableau or Python, and the willingness to build your technical skills further.
  • Strong project management: defining scope, setting priorities, managing dependencies and delivering across several stakeholders.
  • Excellent listening, writing and speaking skills. You can turn business needs into clear technical requirements and explain complex topics to non-specialists.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. You can motivate colleagues, build trust and coordinate delivery across functions, locations and seniority levels.
  • A disciplined approach to quality assurance, problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • A proactive, flexible and collaborative outlook, with interest in using data, automation and approved AI tools to get better analytical outcomes.
  • Preferred qualifications (not essential, but advantageous):
  • Past experience supervising, coaching or informally leading analysts.
  • Hands-on work with structured finance data across more than one asset class or jurisdiction.
  • Experience with cloud-based data environments, data warehouses or governed analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with change management methods and adopting new processes or analytical tools.
  • Experience using modern automation, analytics or approved AI tools in a controlled business environment.
