Description

The company is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco that builds reliable, interpretable and steerable AI systems, with the aim that they are safe and beneficial for users and society.

The team is growing quickly and includes researchers, engineers, policy experts and business leaders.

This is a pre-sales technical role for a trusted security expert who works with the largest enterprise customers. You will engage directly with CISOs, security architects, compliance officers and technical leaders at major healthcare and life sciences organizations, and answer their hardest questions about deploying the company's AI model safely.

You will explain the model's security architecture, data handling and deployment options, then work with customers to design solutions that fit their regulatory and internal requirements.

The role centers on security, compliance, networking and data architecture. You will need to hold your own in rooms full of security professionals, and you will help shape how enterprises think about security and compliance as AI adoption grows, including questions about how MCP, autonomous agents and RBAC fit together.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main security and compliance expert in customer engagements, answering technical questions on the model's architecture, data flows, encryption, access controls and deployment models.
  • Work with CISOs, security architects and compliance teams at healthcare and life sciences organizations to understand their security needs and design solutions that meet standards such as HIPAA, GxP, HITECH, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, GDPR and federal mandates.
  • Lead technical deep-dives on network architecture, data residency, API security, authentication and authorization, audit logging and integration patterns in regulated environments.
  • Support enterprise security reviews, vendor assessments and due diligence by supplying detailed technical documentation and expert guidance.
  • Feed real-time customer feedback on feature gaps and priorities to product and engineering teams, assess whether customer-specific security requirements are technically feasible, and help influence the roadmap.
  • Partner with GTM and Applied AI teams before and after customer engagements to plan strategy, prepare for security discussions and keep continuity from first conversation through deployment.
  • Build and maintain security collateral, reference architectures and best-practice documents for regulated industries.
  • Create enablement content for GTM and Applied AI teams so they can raise key security requirements with customers early.
  • Travel regularly to customer sites for security workshops, architecture reviews and strategic account meetings.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in enterprise security, cloud architecture or technical pre-sales, with significant work in healthcare and life sciences.
  • Deep knowledge of network security, identity and access management, encryption at rest and in transit, API security and audit and logging requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with compliance frameworks used by healthcare and life sciences organizations, including HIPAA, GxP, HITECH, SOC 2, PCI-DSS and GDPR.
  • A record of working with CISOs, security teams and compliance officers at large enterprises.
  • Strong grasp of cloud architecture and deployment on AWS, Azure or GCP, including VPCs, private endpoints and hybrid connectivity.
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical audiences on complex security topics.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to move quickly in a fast-changing market.
  • A collaborative approach, since sales here is a team effort.
  • Enthusiasm for AI's potential to transform highly regulated industries and a real commitment to helping customers adopt it safely and responsibly.
  • A bachelor's degree or an equivalent mix of education, training and experience, in a field relevant to the role as shown through coursework, training or professional work. The years of experience expected depend on the internal job level for the position.
  • Applicants are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet every listed qualification.

Conditions

Annual pay range is $315,000 - $380,000 USD. As a sales role, this is the On Target Earnings range, covering both base salary and the sales commission and bonus target.

Hybrid work: staff are currently expected in an office at least 25% of the time, and some roles may require more.

Visa sponsorship is available, but not for every role or candidate. If an offer is made, the company will make every reasonable effort to secure a visa and retains an immigration lawyer to help.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Optional equity donation matching.
  • Generous vacation and parental leave.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • An office space designed for collaboration.
