Applications Development Senior Programmer - Assistant Vice President

Description

Your work will help set up and put in place new or revised application systems and programs, alongside the Technology team.

The role covers analysing systems and writing programs for applications.

Responsibilities

• Carry out feasibility reviews, time and cost estimates, IT planning, technology risk work, and the development of applications and models that meet defined business needs.
• Oversee every stage of development, from analysis and design through build, testing and rollout, and give business users and operations teams support on the applications.
• Apply deep specialist knowledge of applications development to work through complex problems, assess business and system processes and industry standards, and form sound judgements.
• After launch, review how the business uses the system and propose and build security measures so the design and functionality hold up.
• Advise users, clients and other technology groups, propose advanced programming solutions, and install and assist with customer exposure systems.
• Make sure essential procedures are followed, and help define operating standards and processes.
• Coach newer or more junior analysts.
• Work with limited direct supervision.
• Use independent judgement and act autonomously.
• Act as subject matter expert for senior stakeholders and other team members.
• Weigh risk when making business decisions, with close attention to the firm's reputation and to protecting the company, its clients and its assets. Stay compliant with laws, rules, regulations and policy, use sound ethical judgement, and escalate, manage and report control issues openly.

Requirements

• Recommended: 5-8 years of relevant experience.
• Recommended: Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
• Recommended: Experience managing and delivering successful projects.
• Recommended: Working knowledge of consulting and project management techniques and methods.
• Recommended: Ability to cope under pressure and handle deadlines or sudden changes in expectations or requirements.
• Recommended: Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.

Conditions

Full-time role.

Salary range at the primary location: $94,300.00 - $141,500.00.
