Application Engineer - Bilingual in Korean (MI)

Description

The role supports IT and manufacturing application systems at EV battery production facilities across North America, combining IT knowledge with day-to-day manufacturing operations.

The work covers factory automation, production system troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing efficiency.

You will work in a production environment that moves quickly and suits someone who enjoys solving technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and fix IT and manufacturing application problems at EV battery plants.
• Investigate and resolve production-related system issues promptly.
• Monitor and maintain manufacturing systems so they run stably and reliably.
• Help implement, upgrade, and maintain systems over time.
• Support factory automation software implementation and testing alongside equipment and PLC engineers.
• Liaise with plant users, IT vendors, and internal teams to close technical issues.
• Train plant users and provide technical support on manufacturing systems.
• Write technical documentation, reports, and user guides.
• Work across functions in a multicultural setting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing, IT systems, or manufacturing system management.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Clear communication and good customer service skills.
• Able to work independently as well as within a team, and self-motivated.
• Preferred: experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle SQL.
• Preferred: experience supporting manufacturing systems such as MES, WMS, ERP, or MCS.
• Preferred: familiarity with factory automation environments.
• Preferred: proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Preferred: Korean language skills.
• Preferred: experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Travel of up to 30% may be required, with business trips lasting 1 to 5 weeks depending on project needs.
