Android Applications Developer

The Android Application Development team in the Devices group designs and builds Android applications for public safety customers.

This is a New Grad position based onsite.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements, shape the architecture, and drive solutions from design through development, testing, deployment, maintenance and enhancement of mobile applications.
• Lead development work and guide and mentor other engineers.
• Take full ownership of your work, work independently, and hands-on lead the effort to keep quality high and applications stable.
• Deliver several projects at the same time and meet their deadlines.
• Discuss technology decisions and problems clearly with peers and management.
• Learn new technologies quickly.
• Work effectively in a distributed team.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Android UI frameworks and Android OS.
• In-depth experience with Android Studio and the Android SDK.
• Java and Kotlin skills.
• Experience with C and C++.
• Experience analysing and tuning performance, including memory usage and CPU utilisation.
• Strong debugging skills for solving difficult problems.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• A Bachelor's Degree.
• Experience or knowledge of wireless device-to-device communication standards such as Bluetooth, BLE, NFC and WiFi is a plus.
• Experience or knowledge of mobile development tools such as Git and JIRA, testing, Agile or Kanban processes, and configuration management is welcome.
• Working knowledge of REST, TCP/IP, SIP, RTP, HTTP and UDP is a plus.

Conditions

Onsite work.

Target base salary range of $76,900 to $95,300 USD.
