Description

The role is an Assistant Vice President position on the AI Engineer track, based in Henderson, NV, with multiple openings.

The purpose is to pull useful insight from the bank's data and use it to guide strategic decisions, make operations more efficient, and support new ideas across the organisation.

The company is a bank, and the team uses data science, statistics and machine learning to work on problems across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Find, collect and extract data from internal and external sources.
  • Clean, wrangle and transform data so it is reliable and fit for analysis.
  • Build and run data pipelines that acquire and process data automatically.
  • Design and run statistical and machine learning models that reveal patterns, trends and links in the data.
  • Build and put into production predictive models that forecast outcomes and flag risks and opportunities.
  • Work with business stakeholders to find where data science can add value.
  • Build and deploy AI and GenAI applications, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), conversational AI, agentic workflows and intelligent automation.
  • Design and build scalable backend services, APIs and integrations that connect AI models to enterprise data platforms and business applications.
  • Architect and manage cloud-native AI workloads on containerised platforms, including Kubernetes and Amazon EKS.

  • Design secure networks covering VPC architecture, private connectivity, load balancing, service-to-service communication, API gateways, DNS and network security controls.
  • Improve the performance, scalability, availability and cost efficiency of AI applications across compute, storage and networking.
  • Apply MLOps and LLMOps practices, including model versioning, automated testing, deployment, observability, rollback and lifecycle management.
  • Work with business and technology stakeholders to put production-ready AI into use while meeting governance, security and audit requirements.
  • Advise and influence decisions, contribute to policy, and own the operational effectiveness of your work.
  • Lead a team on complex work that affects the whole business function. Set objectives, coach people toward them, review performance against them and decide reward outcomes.
  • If you manage people, model the LEAD behaviours: listen and be authentic, energise and inspire, align across the enterprise, and develop others.
  • If you work as an individual contributor, lead collaborative assignments, bring in other specialisms where needed, and propose new directions for assignments and projects that combine cross-functional methods.
  • Advise people leaders on escalated complex issues.
  • Find ways to reduce risk and write new policies and procedures that support control and governance.
  • Own the risk and control performance of your work.
  • Analyse complex data from many internal and external sources to solve problems creatively.
  • Explain complex, sensitive or hard-to-convey information clearly to any audience.
  • Persuade stakeholders to reach outcomes.
  • Show the company Values of Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence and Stewardship, and the company Mindset of Empower, Challenge and Drive.
