Description

The company's science and technology group is hiring an AI applications engineer to take AI tools that touch healthcare work and products from prototype into live use.

This is a hands-on engineering job centred on generative AI apps, linking AI with internal and outside systems, and keeping those apps dependable, secure and scalable once they are running. You will work alongside AI scientists, product staff and software engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship generative AI and machine learning apps that rely on large language models, retrieval-augmented generation and agentic workflows.
  • Get AI and ML solutions running in production, covering model serving, inference endpoints, deployment pipelines and fitting them into existing applications.
  • Apply MLOps and LLMOps methods for versioning, CI/CD, testing, evaluation, monitoring and lifecycle upkeep.
  • Create evaluation frameworks, guardrails and observability that raise accuracy, reliability, latency, cost and security.
  • Build and maintain connections to enterprise systems, third-party platforms, APIs and external data sources.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to turn product needs and prototypes into dependable production solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical field.
  • 4+ years of experience in software, AI or machine learning engineering.
  • Hands-on work building GenAI apps with LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector databases or agentic workflows.
  • Strong Python skills and experience building APIs and AI-powered services.
  • Proven record of running AI/ML applications in production, including monitoring, evaluation and operational reliability.
  • Experience connecting applications to REST APIs, third-party services and enterprise data sources.
  • Experience with cloud AI/ML services and deployment on AWS, Azure or GCP.
  • Desired: experience with MLOps/LLMOps tooling and practices such as automated deployment, model evaluation, observability and monitoring.
  • Desired: experience with AI orchestration frameworks, agentic AI, function or tool calling and production RAG architectures.
  • Desired: experience with AI guardrails, responsible AI practices and security controls.
  • Desired: familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, DICOM) and healthcare data privacy rules.
  • Desired: experience delivering AI applications in regulated or enterprise environments.
