Description

The company is part of a larger parent company and is a collaborative place where people are curious and keep improving how they work.

The team is in Product and Engineering and works closely with partners around the world, with a focus on customer experience and a respectful, growth-minded culture.

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer sits on the AI and ML (Insights) team, building AI features that pull insight from structured and unstructured data such as reports, news, and other text.

You will own ML models from design through training, deployment, and upkeep, with a focus on NLP, GenAI, LLMs, and scalable data systems, and you will work with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to match business and AI strategy.

The work helps customers find and understand insights faster, with better quality and more coverage, across millions of data sources.

Responsibilities

  • Build AI and ML capabilities that generate insight on the platform and support the team's strategic priorities.
  • Design, build, and deploy AI and ML models and services for NLP, summarization, semantic search, classification, and prediction, held to production reliability and efficiency standards.
  • Mentor peers, share knowledge, and take part in code and design reviews to raise technical standards.
  • Build and tune classifiers, transformers, LLMs, and other NLP methods, then integrate them into the wider AI and ML infrastructure with partner teams.
  • Work with engineering, product, and data collection teams so models rest on high-quality data and advance product goals.
  • Test new GenAI, NLP, and search tools and methods, and turn promising findings into working features.
  • Help set standards for model transparency, monitoring, evaluation, compliance, security, data integrity, and responsible AI use.
  • Take part in candidate technical interviews and help new hires ramp up through documentation, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
  • Apply Agile, Lean, and Fast-Flow practices to keep model development and release cycles efficient.
  • Model the company's values and encourage the behaviours it wants to see.
  • Join other company initiatives and projects when asked.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or data science.
  • 6+ years of software or machine learning engineering experience, with a strong record in AI and ML for insight generation, summarization, semantic search, and prediction.
  • You must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without visa sponsorship.
  • Preferred: Proven depth in NLP and machine learning, including hands-on work with classifiers, transformers, LLMs, and libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
  • Preferred: You have shipped production GenAI or LLM systems that delivered measurable business results.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with the LangChain ecosystem, including LangSmith and LangGraph, with production use being a strong plus.
  • Preferred: Deep experience building and running scalable data pipelines and distributed systems with tools such as Apache Kafka, Airflow, and cloud data platforms like Snowflake.
  • Preferred: Strong Python and SQL skills, with Java or Scala as a plus.
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience with cloud-native development, containers, and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Preferred: A record of solving hard technical problems, shaping architecture, and delivering reliable, high-performance solutions.
  • Preferred: Clear communication and strong teamwork across product managers, engineers, and data scientists in distributed teams.
  • Preferred: Experience in fast-paced, data-driven settings, with fintech or financial data platforms as a strong advantage.
  • Preferred: Peer-reviewed AI or ML publications at conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, or ACL, and involvement in the AI research community, strongly preferred.
