Sr. Associate Cloud Security Engineer

Description

The company is a large healthcare business that supplies insights, products and services aimed at making quality care easier to get and more affordable. The team is part of the Cybersecurity Engineering group, which protects the technology environment across cloud, hybrid and on-premises platforms.

This is a Sr. Associate Cloud Security Engineer (P2) role. You will work under moderate guidance, build your technical skills, and help improve the company's enterprise security capabilities. You will work closely with infrastructure, network, cloud and application teams so that security is considered in technology decisions and daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain security controls and configurations across cloud, network and infrastructure, in line with enterprise standards.
• Look into security alerts and suspicious activity, and help with incident response using enterprise monitoring and telemetry tools.
• Help manage vulnerabilities by checking findings, coordinating fixes and tracking each issue until it is closed.
• Review network access requests and connectivity needs to confirm access is appropriate, secure and limited to least privilege.
• Analyse network traffic, protocols and communication flows to spot security risks and support secure network design.
• Support compliance, audit and risk assessments by gathering evidence, checking control effectiveness and suggesting improvements.
• Work with other teams and technology partners to build security into system deployments, infrastructure changes and cloud projects.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, computer science or a related field, with 2+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, network security, cloud security, infrastructure or security operations. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are accepted.
• 2+ years supporting cybersecurity, network security, IT infrastructure or cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, HTTP and enterprise network communications.
• Hands-on experience with network security technologies such as firewalls, IDS, IPS, VPNs or network segmentation.
• Experience reviewing, governing or supporting network access management in enterprise settings.
• Working knowledge of identity and access management, least privilege, vulnerability management, configuration hardening and incident response.
• Experience supporting cloud or hybrid infrastructure and applying security controls there.
• Basic scripting or programming skills for automation, integration or operational efficiency.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux in an enterprise environment.
• Nice to have: exposure to Zero Trust architectures and modern cloud networking.
• Nice to have: experience with cloud security platforms, policy-as-code or security automation tools.
• Nice to have: strong communication skills, able to explain technical security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Conditions

Base pay range is €40,900 - €68,100. Pay depends on performance, experience and skills, equity, regular market reviews and location. An annual bonus or long-term incentives may also be offered.
