Description

Job code: FEQ128R47.

This solutions architect role in financial services centres on owning the technical strategy for assigned customer accounts, from first discovery through production rollout and ongoing usage growth. You are still building a technical specialty and are known in your team for depth in one domain.

The company is a data and AI firm serving more than 20,000 organizations worldwide, including 70% of the Fortune 500. It is headquartered in San Francisco and has over 30 offices globally.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical plan for each account, covering discovery, production deployment and growing usage over time.
  • Lead complex design discussions for scalable production systems across data engineering, ML and AI, and real-time analytics.
  • Act as a trusted technical contact for customer architects, engineering leads and directors.
  • Win competitive technical deals by showing how the company stands apart, including through custom-built solutions.
  • Build and declare an emerging specialty so you become the team's go-to person in that area.
  • Coordinate DSAs, SSAs and partners to deliver full solutions for difficult customer problems.
  • Send structured input on customer needs and competitor gaps back into product direction.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in solutions architecture, data engineering, technical pre-sales, or a senior hands-on technical role.
  • Strong Python and SQL, including live coding, debugging and building solutions in front of others.
  • Deep knowledge of distributed data systems, including scalable pipelines, streaming, lakehouse patterns and cloud-native data platforms.
  • Working proficiency on the company's platform, or the ability to get there quickly, plus a developing specialty in one area such as real-time or streaming, ML/AI, data governance or migrations.
  • Proven record of leading architecture talks with senior technical stakeholders through whiteboarding, design reviews and trade-off analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with production deployments on AWS, Azure or GCP, covering infrastructure, security and governance.
  • Track record of growing platform adoption and usage within accounts.
  • Clear communication that turns complex designs into business value for technical and executive audiences.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering or a quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
  • Platform certifications in data engineering, ML or the platform itself.
  • Familiarity with competing platforms such as Snowflake, AWS native services and Azure Synapse, so you understand what you are positioning against.
  • Background at a data or AI company or a cloud provider.
  • Industry domain expertise, such as financial services, healthcare, retail or media.

Conditions

The base pay range for this role is $180,000 to $247,500 USD. This is the expected range for non-commissionable roles, or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.

Actual pay depends on factors such as job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications and training, and work location, and the company expects to use the full range.
