Description

The company builds smart infrastructure for finance teams that sits inside the payment flow of every dollar a business spends. Its software automates the authorizing of payments, the flagging of risk, the categorizing of spend and the closing of books for more than 85,000 companies, with over $275B in annualized spend moving through it.

The problems are high-stakes, data-heavy and unforgiving. The team looks for people with strong drive and a sense of urgency, values growth rate over pedigree, and cares more about what you have built than where you studied. Everyone owns problems from start to finish and makes decisions that change the outcome.

The median customer saves 7.5% and grows revenue 16% in its first year, well above businesses that do not use the company's product.

This role is on the Core FDE team, an agent-first, fast-moving, customer-facing engineering group. You will work directly with customers, understand their pain points, influence product decisions and build agents that autonomously extend what the product can do. The engineering blog and an FDE post describe the team's work in more detail.

Responsibilities

  • Build complete solutions for the largest customers by learning their pain points, writing product specs and creating agents that carry out the fixes on their own.
  • Work closely with Sales, Solutions, Customer Success and Account Management to win deals, get customers live and grow the value they get over time.
  • Set the direction for core product engineering by specializing in one product area, building deep domain knowledge, and deciding when a custom build is better than speeding up a broader initiative.

Requirements

  • Preferred: at least 3 years of software engineering experience.
  • Extensive hands-on experience building agents and building for them.
  • A record of shipping high-quality products at scale.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm for working directly with customers.
  • Appetite for a fast pace, continual learning and getting good at your craft.

Conditions

The company considers applicants with arrest and conviction records, as required by the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.

The company only contacts candidates from official company email addresses and never asks for payment or sensitive personal information during hiring.

Benefits

  • United States: flexible PTO, centralized ordering of home-office equipment, a health and wellness stipend, a budget for travel between offices, a weekly coffee stipend, 100% coverage of medical, dental and vision insurance for you and partial coverage for dependents, an annual One Medical membership, a 401(k) with an employer match on contributions made while you are employed, a fertility HRA of up to $10,000 per year, up to 16 weeks of parental leave for childbirth and bonding or 8 weeks for bonding only at full pay, pet insurance, in-office lunch, snacks and drinks, and relocation help to NYC or SF if needed.
  • Canada: group medical, dental and vision coverage through Sun Life, life, AD&D and disability coverage, fertility drug coverage of up to $4,000 lifetime, a group retirement plan with an employer match (RRSP and DPSP), up to 16 weeks of parental leave for childbirth and bonding or 8 weeks for bonding only at full pay with more time available at reduced pay, and an employee assistance program with virtual care through Lumino Health.
  • United Kingdom: private medical insurance through Freedom Elite, virtual GP and at-home care through eMed x Livi, a workplace pension through Penfold with a salary sacrifice option, and up to 16 weeks of parental leave for childbirth and bonding or 8 weeks for bonding only at full pay, with extra time available at reduced pay.
