  • Build backend services and APIs for data onboarding, exchange, discovery and consumption.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code, and take part in code reviews, CI/CD work and engineering standards.
  • Find and fix performance, reliability and scalability problems across services, APIs and data-processing workloads.
  • Join system design discussions and work with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality solutions.
  • Work with product, engineering, data governance, security and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and reach shared goals.
  • Collaborate with teams across global time zones and keep growing your skills as the platform and team responsibilities change.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical area such as computer science or engineering, or have equivalent practical experience.
  • Solid grounding in software engineering, including object-oriented programming, API design, testing and scalable system design.
  • Backend experience with Java is preferred; strong Python experience will also be considered.
  • Hands-on Apache Spark experience building or tuning data-processing workloads.
  • Experience with cloud and cloud-native technologies. AWS and Databricks experience is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated testing and production support.
  • Experience building or contributing to data-centric platforms, distributed systems or enterprise data integration solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills, and comfort working in an agile environment.
  • Curiosity, a sense of ownership and a growth mindset, plus the ability to adjust as priorities and responsibilities take shape.
  • Preferred: experience with Spring Boot.
  • Preferred: front-end exposure to React or Angular.
  • Preferred: experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka and Flink.
  • Preferred: experience building reusable platforms that serve several products, teams or business areas.
  • Preferred: exposure to adding AI-driven capabilities to data platforms with suitable governance and guardrails.
