Software Engineer - Full Stack

Description

You will join the software engineering team at the company, which builds and runs AI-powered virtual clinics around the clock for the country's largest health systems.

The role centres on a product ecosystem where reliability, privacy, and performance are essential. You will create reusable components and resilient architectures that keep every patient interaction smooth and every clinical data point secure, and you will provide shared frameworks that let the company deliver 5-star experiences to many partners without lowering quality.

Responsibilities

• Work across the stack, from multi-platform clients to the Kotlin/JVM backend services behind them, through the full life of each product and feature.
• Build performance, accessibility, and data privacy into every feature by enforcing high engineering standards.
• Keep modernising the systems so that agentic AI tools raise developer productivity and team output.
• Bring steadiness to complex, unclear technical situations by clarifying requirements and making sound decisions that reduce risk.
• Help grow the engineering group by encouraging ownership and showing how to move quickly without giving up clinical-grade quality.

Requirements

• You bring 3-5+ years of software engineering work, mostly building robust products that customers use directly.
• You have solid hands-on experience with front-end and back-end development in Node and TypeScript.
• Experience with a JVM language, Kotlin or Java, is a major plus.
• You can design resilient APIs that support critical workflows on any user-facing platform. The middle layers rely heavily on GraphQL and TypeScript.
• You build with the customer in mind and weigh the functional and non-functional factors that shape the experience on web and mobile.
• You use modern agentic development tools, such as Claude Code, effectively across platforms to ship high-quality code quickly and reliably.
• You have built reusable frameworks, white-label products, or multi-tenant architectures where code quality affects several products.
• You have worked in high-stakes fields such as HealthTech, ConsumerTech, or Conversational AI, where performance and privacy matter most.
• You work largely on your own and use sound judgment to do the right thing for patients and partners.
• You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related technical field.
• Bonus: Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform for sharing logic across the product portfolio.
• Bonus: Deep knowledge of security best practices and data encryption.
• Bonus: Experience with healthcare standards such as FHIR or HL7, or with integrating EHR systems.

Conditions

The role requires working onsite at the New York City office 4 days a week.
