Description

You will help tax and audit professionals turn real business problems into dependable AI tools. You combine tax or audit know-how with AI tools to build automations, check their accuracy and deliver solutions professionals can rely on, working with clients, engineers and the company's specialists from prototype through deployment.

The company supplies trusted content and technology to legal, tax, accounting, compliance, government and media professionals, and also runs a global news and journalism business.

The company has 26,000 employees in more than 70 countries. This posting may be used to fill current openings or future vacancies.

Responsibilities

  • Work with public accounting firms and corporate tax departments to map their workflows, find where automation helps and agree on what a successful result looks like.
  • Design solutions that leave professional judgment with the user and include controls for accuracy, risk and professional standards.
  • Create prompts, AI agent instructions, prototypes and working automations using AI coding tools, Python and low-code platforms.
  • Own AI evaluation: build expert-checked reference datasets, test outputs against professional criteria, and sign off on accuracy before anything goes live.
  • Develop reusable prompts and automations for return review, workpaper preparation, K-1 processing, tax provision and audit testing.
  • Show clients and prospects how AI can handle real tax and audit problems during demos and early discussions.
  • Work with the company's domain experts, editorial staff and product teams to keep solutions consistent with the product, tax law and professional standards.

Requirements

  • Required: five or more years of hands-on work in public accounting, corporate tax or audit, plus a relevant credential such as CPA, EA or CIA, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Required: proven use of AI on real tax or audit work, including prompt writing, custom agents or assistants, and AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot.
  • Required: you have delivered at least one automation or AI tool that others use, and you have built evaluation datasets and test harnesses that measure accuracy, consistency and failure points.
  • Required: advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of SQL or Python.
  • Required: sound judgment on accuracy and risk, and on where a human must review the output.
  • Required: you can turn complex workflows into practical solutions, work across disciplines and explain things clearly to clients, tax and audit leaders and engineers.
  • Preferred: experience with the company's products, such as UltraTax CS, GoSystem Tax RS, ONESOURCE, Checkpoint or CoCounsel.
  • Preferred: experience at a large public accounting firm or a complex corporate tax department.
  • Preferred: formal programming training, a coding bootcamp or a portfolio of AI projects.
  • Preferred: experience building quality assurance or professional review processes for tax or audit work.
