Description

The company has spent more than 25 years building graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing technology, and now applies AI to the next generation of computing, where its GPUs drive computers, robots, and self-driving cars.

The team is looking for a System Software Engineer with a solid background in Linux systems programming, systems administration, and technical support. The role mixes software development, system-level troubleshooting, and hands-on support for internal or customer-facing environments.

You will design and maintain Slurm, which is written in C, work through difficult system problems, and partner with other engineers to keep Slurm running well and efficiently. The ideal candidate can write efficient, reliable, maintainable code, analyze system performance, and support production environments with equal ease.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, improve, and optimize C software components.
  • Build and maintain system-level and application-level Slurm code covering networking, system, and device components.
  • Find and fix complex Slurm reliability and performance issues.
  • Write clean, well-documented code that meets industry standards.
  • Work with Operations, Infrastructure, and Deployment teams.
  • Give direct technical support to internal teams or external customers.
  • Write automated tests that protect software reliability and prevent regressions.
  • Stay current on C programming, compilers, build systems, and related tools.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of professional C development experience and a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A firm grasp of memory management, pointers, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Experience with debugging tools such as GDB and with performance profiling.
  • A solid understanding of Linux kernel interfaces, system calls, and the file system, including work with Automake.
  • An understanding of software development lifecycles and agile methods, plus strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience working in an environment that prioritizes quality and reliability.
  • Experience with containers and GPU technologies.
  • You are curious, self-motivated, and keen to learn new technologies.

Conditions

Your base salary depends on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar roles. The base salary range is 168,000 USD to 270,250 USD for Level 4, and 200,000 USD to 322,000 USD for Level 5.

Applications are accepted at least until November 1, 2026.
