Description

Our team is the Order Fulfillment Software Factory, which builds the end-to-end software for two areas: Source to Deliver, covering purchasing, supplier management, supply chain and logistics, and Order to Deliver, covering how the company sells, configures, schedules and delivers vehicles to dealers and customers.

The work follows a SaaS First, Cloud First, AI First direction. You will work with Purchasing and Order Fulfillment IT, and with the company's other engineering factories for peer engineering, mainframe and SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Lead several engineering teams that build the business-critical platforms, integrations and modernization programs that source parts and deliver vehicles.
  • Own the technical direction, the delivery and the results.
  • Turn business strategy into roadmaps and KPIs, then deliver against them.
  • Work with product, business, architecture, operations and delivery leaders to turn business needs into scalable engineering solutions.
  • Lead a portfolio that spans modern platforms, APIs, integrations and legacy systems.
  • Make the difficult architecture decisions and hold a high standard for quality, security and reliability.
  • Stay hands-on through code reviews, debugging, technical spikes and proofs of concept.
  • Bring Principal Engineer-level judgment to design reviews and lead by example.
  • Make AI coding agents a core part of how your teams plan, build, test and ship software, with guardrails that keep agent-written code safe to release.
  • Build agent tooling, such as MCP servers, custom agents and agent-driven CI/CD for PR review, test generation and large-scale migrations.
  • Measure impact with DORA metrics, cycle time and change-failure rate, and report the results to leadership.
  • Drive modernization of legacy applications through decomposition, platform evolution, integration simplification and debt reduction.
  • Hire and grow engineers and tech leads who move fast, work rigorously and take ownership of what they merge.
  • Build a culture of accountability, technical excellence, continuous learning and customer-focused delivery.
  • Lead incident response for production and drive root causes to lasting fixes.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of software engineering and people leadership experience, including leading multiple teams.
  • Current hands-on coding skill in Java or C++, plus experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular or React.
  • 1+ year of substantial hands-on use of AI coding agents in production work.
  • Experience with distributed systems, APIs, event-driven architecture and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP).
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems while keeping business-critical delivery running.
  • Experience setting and improving engineering standards, development lifecycle practices and delivery discipline.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, influence senior stakeholders and tie technical decisions to business outcomes.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with a record of raising the technical effectiveness of engineers and managers.
  • Excellent communication, able to explain complex technical issues clearly to engineering and business audiences.
  • Preferred: 12+ years of software engineering experience and 7+ years in engineering leadership.
  • Preferred: experience leading org-wide adoption of agentic development with measured gains.
  • Preferred: experience building with LLM APIs, MCP, retrieval and evaluation harnesses.
  • Preferred: experience with mainframe-connected or deeply integrated enterprise systems.
  • Preferred: familiarity with secure-by-design practices for AI-generated code and with automotive standards ISO 26262 and ISO/SAE 21434.
  • Preferred: experience leading globally distributed teams.
  • Preferred: experience influencing executives in a complex, matrixed organization.
