Senior Software Engineer (Quality) - Consumer Intelligence & Engagement

You will join the Consumer Intelligence and Engagement group, which builds personalisation, recommendations, consumer insight, experimentation and AI-driven decisioning for digital channels.

The group helps shoppers find products, interact with content and get more from membership and loyalty programmes.

The company is a global sports brand making footwear, apparel and accessories. It operates in 120+ countries and has around 22,000 staff.

As a quality engineer, you will check membership and loyalty features and how they connect to core commerce systems by writing and running functional and automated tests. You will work with the lead engineer, product owner and engineering manager to confirm the features meet requirements and give consumers a strong experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the quality engineering team for loyalty and personalisation.
• Build and maintain automated suites for API, integration, functional and end-to-end testing.
• Carry out tests of membership and loyalty features at functional, integration and API levels.
• Check that loyalty points are earned and redeemed correctly and that personalised recommendations work for members.
• Set up and maintain test data and scenarios for member journeys.
• Make sure the experience stays consistent and reliable across browsers, devices and consumer journeys.
• Work with lead engineers, software engineers and product owners so quality is built into every stage of development.
• Use AI-assisted quality tools to widen coverage, speed up regression runs and catch more defects.
• Keep improving automation coverage, test stability and quality practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of testing large-scale distributed backend systems on cloud-native platforms, related to membership and loyalty capabilities.
• Hands-on work with Playwright (preferred), Cypress, Appium or similar tools.
• Experience setting a test strategy for loyalty management applications.
• Experience with API and contract testing.
• Experience managing test data.
• Experience validating membership and loyalty features.
• Ability to design an A/B testing approach.
• Cross-browser testing with BrowserStack or an equivalent tool (preferred).
• Experience using coding agents, LLMs or AI-assisted engineering tools to improve delivery and developer productivity.
• Background in eCommerce, retail or consumer digital products (strongly preferred).
