Description

The company has more than 500 employees, most working remote-first, and about 102.4 million monthly active users as of June 30, 2026, across more than 180 countries. Its products are a mobile app, tracking devices, and a pet GPS tracker, with location sharing, safe driver reports, and crash detection with emergency dispatch.

The Revenue Experiences team sits in the Direct Revenue org. It owns subscription tiering, pricing, packaging and positioning, plus the paid features members buy, both current and planned. The team also maintains these features to a high quality bar for paying users.

The team runs experiments on paywalls, pricing, ad placement and mediation, and decides based on evidence. Experiments guide what to build and how to package it, but they are not the whole job.

This is an AI-native role. AI is part of how the team ideates, codes, tests, reviews and iterates, and the team is looking for someone who can help shape that at scale.

The title is AI-Native Senior Software Engineer II. This is a builder who owns outcomes, not only tickets, and who sees the work from brief to shipped product for an audience above 100 million monthly users.

Premium features keep growing, so the quality bar rises with each launch. This role builds new features while keeping the existing ones strong.

In the first year, success means owning end-to-end delivery of several features or experiments that add to global revenue or improve the quality of premium features already in use.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain paid membership features and services from design through production, including new features, extensions to existing ones, and the routine fixes that keep them reliable.
  • Build the paywalls, plan selection, upsell and upgrade flows, and one-time purchase (IAP) flows that carry tiering, pricing, packaging and positioning.
  • Own ads quality, covering placement, mediation, and how ads affect app performance and stability.
  • Work with product, design, data science and analytics to turn hypotheses into shippable work and results into the next decision. Push back when a hypothesis or plan is weak.
  • Use AI (Claude Code or equivalent) as a core collaborator, mainly by directing agents to write specs, generate code and tests, verify results and run reviews.
  • Ship polished, fast, reliable experiences to 100M+ users, watching startup time, memory, battery, ANR and crash-free rates.
  • Shape architecture, review code, and build a habit of craft and steady improvement across the mobile codebases.
  • Take shifts on call and respond to incidents for paid features and releases.
  • Mentor engineers and help set team processes, technical standards and the team's AI-native practices.

Requirements

  • Required: 6+ years of Android engineering with production apps at consumer scale.
  • Required: 1+ year of AI-assisted iOS development, working across both platforms.
  • Required: experience with in-app billing and subscription platforms, specifically Google Play Billing and StoreKit.
  • Required: strong Kotlin and Jetpack Compose skills, plus the Android View system, and familiarity with Android Studio, Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
  • Required: experience with Android architecture (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture, Jetpack ViewModel and Navigation, Hilt or Dagger) in a large codebase shared by many teams.
  • Required: comfort with experimentation, including feature flags, A/B tests, exposure logging, holdouts and guardrail metrics.
  • Required: solid grounding in performance, memory, battery, ANR and crash diagnosis using Android Studio Profiler, Perfetto or Systrace, Macrobenchmark, Crashlytics or equivalent.
  • Required: experience with Android CI/CD (Gradle, Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Bitrise or similar) and modular build systems.
  • Required: strong expertise in LLM-powered agentic systems, prompt engineering, context-window optimization and MCP-based integrations.
  • Required: communicates tradeoffs clearly.
  • Required: bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Optional: experience with mobile ad SDKs and mediation (AdMob, AppLovin MAX or similar).
  • Optional: experience with an experimentation platform (Statsig, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, Eppo, GrowthBook or similar).
  • Optional: background in mobile analytics pipelines (Amplitude, Segment, Snowflake or Databricks downstream).
  • Optional: contributions to mobile open source or internal developer tooling.
  • Daily use of AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot) for real work such as analysis, coding, refactoring, testing, navigating codebases and documentation, not just research or autocomplete.
  • You are accountable for AI-generated code and review it like any other pull request.
  • You help the team by sharing what works, building reusable prompting strategies and bringing teammates up to speed on AI workflows.
  • You keep up with fast-changing tooling and bring the team recommendations that would meaningfully improve how it works.
