Senior Project Manager-MEP Building Automation Controls

Description

You will join the project management function as the owner's representative, overseeing projects from start to finish. The role is consulting work for a financial services client account, supporting the company's strategic goals.

You will lead office infrastructure construction onsite and across a region. The work is MEP upgrades and installations in smart buildings where people already work, with a focus on BMS automation controls.

Responsibilities

• Run every stage of multiple real estate projects: planning, design, construction, occupancy and closeout.
• Work with clients to shape each project, covering scope, the delivery resources needed, cost estimates and budget, the schedule and milestones, quality control and risk identification.
• Report project progress to the Project Management Director and other business leaders.
• Mentor and manage other project managers so they build deep knowledge across most or all areas of the function.
• Choose delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through the qualification process. Run complex requests for proposals, evaluate bids and recommend resources to clients.
• Keep all workstreams on schedule and resolve or escalate issues.
• Hold regular status meetings for active and upcoming projects.
• Work with the team to develop solutions and guide delivery through to completion.
• Look for better methods to meet individual and departmental goals.
• Build expertise in your own field and a working knowledge of the other subject areas in the function.
• Drive customer, operational, project and service outcomes across multidiscipline teams, within functional policies that shape procedures.
• Help create new products, processes, standards and operational plans that support functional goals.
• Lead by example. Anticipate objections and win over senior leaders, including those with differing interests, to a new point of view.

Requirements

• You must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without visa sponsorship.
• Preferred: a bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, with 8-10 years of relevant experience. A combination of experience and education may be considered in place of the degree.
• Preferred: PE, LEED AP, PMP and/or CCM certification.
• Required: owner's representative experience with Class A financial or professional services clients, and infrastructure or MEP experience.
• Desired: strong knowledge of BMS controls, building automation and smart buildings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and knowledge of PM Web or similar project management software.
• Required: a proven record of working strategically with senior leadership and leading delivery resources.
• Required: the ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding setting while leading several projects at different stages.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of the role and must be followed where they apply.

Conditions

Hybrid schedule with onsite work.

Approximately 20% out-of-town regional travel.
