The role designs and refines machine learning algorithms for customer needs and takes them from design through to production.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy large-scale machine learning systems that process massive datasets, train models and deliver predictions or insights.
• Design machine learning algorithms that meet customer requirements, with attention to performance, scalability and robustness.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and turn them into data-driven solutions.
• Create and run test strategies that evaluate and refine algorithms for real-world environments.
• Track research, methods and industry trends, and fold suitable new techniques into system design.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field, plus six years of progressive post-degree experience in this role or a related occupation.
• Or a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in those fields, plus four years of experience in this role or a related occupation.
• Four years of experience involving each of the following:
• Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and TypeScript with Node.js, ExpressJS or NestJS.
• Frontend development with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, along with Angular, Vue.js, React, Redux, UI5 Web Components or Bootstrap.
• Test frameworks such as JUnit or Karate for API, mock, performance and unit testing, plus UI testing with Chai, Mocha and React Testing Library (RTL).
• Software design and architecture, agile development, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design including SOLID.
• Writing architecture documents and taking part in Architecture Decision Record (ADR) reviews.
• Designing microservices or service-oriented architecture, including REST and RESTful API design, API integration, and API testing with Postman or Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Feature-flag-driven development, including controlled and staged feature rollouts.
• SQL, MySQL, relational schema design, and caching with Redis.
• Git or GitHub source control and CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Two years of experience with Kibana, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Scrum or Agile methodologies, Jira and Confluence, SAP Crystal Reports, and fine-grained and coarse-grained access control.

The role is eligible for the employee referral program under its eligibility criteria. For internal employees, only permanent roles qualify.

Base salary: $174,783 to $222,288 per year. The targeted combined range, including variable incentive target, is $174,783 to $252,600. The actual offer will fall within that range and depends on education, skills, experience, location, scope and the selection process.

Any variable incentive has a target amount, and the actual payout depends on company and individual performance.
