Description

The team sits at the centre of the company's industrial change and belongs to the Industry Operations group in Hengelo.

The Hengelo site has more than 700 people who deliver complex high-tech systems on schedule and to strict quality standards, while steadily raising customer satisfaction.

The Lean team uses Lean expertise to speed up learning and industrial change. Members lead by example, work as a unit, listen closely and bring industrial know-how. Failures are treated as chances to get better.

Responsibilities

  • Spend much of your time on the shop floor with operations managers and their teams, rolling out Lean methods and tools to lift performance.
  • Adapt Lean to each shop floor, since no two are alike, aiming for the most efficient fit for the operational teams and always keeping customer satisfaction in view.
  • Link your work to the industry strategy by running one-point improvements, roll-outs or large Lean projects, either alone as a consultant and hands-on implementer or with your Lean team colleagues.

Requirements

  • Hold a master degree, preferably in an industrial field.
  • Senior experience implementing Lean in an industrial setting is appreciated.
  • Be eager to move things forward, keep developing yourself, learn quickly and thrive in a demanding setting.
  • Have senior knowledge of the automotive-origin production system, as people often ask you to advise as a Lean consultant or subject matter expert.
  • Speak fluent English.
  • Be open-minded and have advanced experience applying Lean elements such as Kanban, Andon, Kaizen, VSM, visual shopfloor management (SIM) and A3 problem solving.
  • Know related industrial standards for planning, logistics and ERP.
  • Have project management experience, e.g. IPMA level D.
  • Have experience leading change, including managing stakeholders.
  • Have experience with Six Sigma methods for tackling specific problems.
  • Bring a positive attitude as a team player, and keep pushing Lean methods and production lines to the next better state.
  • Enjoy making improvements and bring that energy to others.

  • Growth within the organization in technical, commercial or international skills.
  • International collaboration with colleagues from 68 countries.
  • A comfortable, modern workspace that values flexibility and work-life balance.
  • A good salary and a suitable travel allowance.

  • 40 days of PTO per year.
