Senior Edge Security Engineer

Description

The company's Global Infrastructure Defense Security Engineering Team designs, builds, tests and architects its next generation cyber security solutions worldwide.

You will research, build and certify security strategies, products, architectures and best practices. You will help set key security strategy direction and deliver solutions that meet all enterprise security requirements, with the potential to shape industry-wide roadmaps.

This is a full-time role based in Hungary. The salary range is Ft17,157,800.00 to Ft28,767,800.00.

Responsibilities

• Set the enterprise cyber security strategy, vision, roadmap and direction, including critical products and solutions.
• Lead the design, ownership and innovation of the company's edge security platforms and ecosystems, such as WAF, CDN, telemetry and observability from external vantage points.
• Build monitoring across services so that the resilience and availability of client-facing services can be measured.
• Work with transformation program directors, senior architects and steering committees to run perimeter and edge security programs.
• Work with global cyber security industry partners to influence future technology, and take part in related R&D.
• Own the inventory, accuracy and engineering quality of your assigned services and products.
• Test emerging cyber security technologies hands-on in the lab, using the end-to-end architecture available there.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships and work closely with major suppliers and security companies.
• Write and publish designs, architecture standards, test results and best practice guides for a global audience.
• Identify and flag risk and exposure in products and architectures from a security and threat perspective.
• Take an active part in enterprise security working groups and teams, bring new ideas and carry them through to delivery.
• Lead and influence a virtual global team, and act as the senior subject matter expert for specialist security technologies and disciplines.

Requirements

• Ideal background: 5-8 years of experience across several security disciplines, with a solid grasp of layered defense.
• Ideal background: deep knowledge of TCP/IP and network routing protocols.
• Ideal background: experience defining enterprise security strategy and ecosystems across varied products.
• Ideal background: strong hands-on experience with firewall and proxy technologies.
• Essential: experience designing large-scale networks and security systems.
• Ideal background: ability to work with and interpret regulatory and risk management requirements.
• Ideal background: strong Unix and Linux experience.
• Ideal background: scripting in Python, Perl or Bash.
• Ideal background: a university or college degree in any STEM field, or equivalent industry or technology knowledge.
