Senior CAD Designer

Description

The senior CAD designer produces and coordinates high-quality design and technical documents for projects in real estate, infrastructure, manufacturing and industrial sectors. The role brings advanced CAD skill, keeps work aligned with project standards, and works with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate drawings, models and design solutions across the full project lifecycle.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Hartford, CT.

Responsibilities

• Build, check and keep up to date precise CAD drawings, layouts and technical documents needed to deliver projects.
• Coordinate drawing packages and design documents with architects, engineers, project managers and outside consultants.
• Make sure work meets project requirements, company standards, industry codes and client specifications.
• Support design development, construction documents and as-built drawing work.
• Run quality reviews and technical checks for accuracy, consistency and completeness of drawings.
• Maintain CAD standards, templates and drawing management procedures across projects.
• Work with project teams to resolve design conflicts and keep project delivery on track.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, digital design tools and CAD best practices.
• Mentor junior designers and give technical guidance to team members.
• Help with project planning, scheduling and coordination of design deliverables.

Requirements

• An associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering technology, drafting, architecture, design or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in CAD design, drafting or technical design roles.
• Advanced skill in AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
• Experience producing construction, engineering, architectural or industrial drawings.
• A solid grasp of drafting standards, drawing management and design coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, engineering documents and construction plans.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of the role and must be followed where they apply.
• On-site presence and requirements may change based on client needs.
