  • Work with programmers, designers and artists to gather requirements, help solve problems and make the animation workflow more efficient.
  • Partner with the animation leads and the animation director to raise the quality of the game's animations.
  • Profile complex data pipelines and tools, then find and remove bottlenecks in performance, memory, network and IO.
  • Write documentation for the gameplay and cinematic teams.
  • Track developments in animation technology and bring relevant ideas into the work.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional programming experience.
  • Strong C/C++ skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Experience with multi-threaded and allocator-aware programming.
  • Experience optimising memory and performance.
  • Experience with animation graphs, blend trees and state machines in Unreal, Havok Animation, Morpheme or similar tools.
  • Solid grasp of 3D maths and linear algebra.
  • Skill in algorithm design, with an understanding of complexity and software architecture.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable and extensible code that can be reused.
  • Strong communication skills, enthusiasm and initiative.
  • Very good English.
  • Experience on at least one shipped multiplayer title.
  • Familiarity with animation technologies such as compression, motion synthesis, ragdoll physics and IK.
  • Experience building UX and tools.
  • Console programming experience.
  • Experience with Maya, MotionBuilder or other digital content creation tools.
  • Python experience.
  • Familiarity with animation processing and deployment pipelines.
