Description

Skeletons, lasers, tattoo buses — the Torq brand grabs attention like nothing else in cybersecurity. And we're growing like crazy, backed by Series D funding, 200% employee growth, and 300% revenue growth. Fueling Torq's momentum is our game-changing AI SOC platform, backed by a team and culture that makes Torq one of Forbes' Best Startup Employers in America, and a Business Insider 'startup to bet your career on'.

Life at Torq is all gas, no brakes. We're a team of relentless, collaborative go-getters pushing the boundaries of what's possible for security automation. Every role is an essential driver of Torq's success as the AI-native autonomous SecOps platform of choice for security teams across the Fortune 500.

In this role you’ll help our sales team to evangelize the power of Torq by assessing and understanding the technical business needs of our customers and prospects to help them achieve maximum value from our solution. This is a remote position based in Denver.

  • Provide outstanding and effective pre-sales technical expertise and sales engineering processes.
  • Lead the Sales Engineering team in following sales methodology and best practices, as well as ensuring proper use of CRM system

  • Participate in regional industry events/organizations as a thought leader.
  • Collaborate with a variety of internal functional areas to ensure solutions are implemented and supported in-line with client expectations.
  • Provide input on product development or enhancements to existing products to product management function.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in pre-sales/solutions engineering for a SaaS security product — SecOps, SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, or AI SOC. Security domain knowledge is a must.
  • Working fluency with agentic AI: multi-agent systems, reasoning and planning, tool calling, MCP, prompt engineering, and the practical limits of LLMs in security
  • Hands-on use of AI tooling to build — demo environments, POC assets, integrations, and custom workflows
  • Ability to address AI trust and governance in enterprise evaluations: explainability, audit trails, approval gates, blast-radius limits, reversibility, and data handling
  • Familiarity with the AI SOC competitive landscape and how architectures differ, from autonomous triage point solutions to AI-augmented SIEM and EDR bundles
  • Fluency in the modern SOC operating model: triage, investigation, case management, Tier 1–3 workflows, MTTD/MTTR
  • Deep understanding of pre-sales engineering and sales stage processes, including scoped POCs with measurable success criteria
  • Public Cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure) hands-on working knowledge
  • Hands-on with Python, PowerShell, or bash, plus REST APIs, JSON, and webhook-based integrations
  • Prior experience selling one or more cybersecurity solutions: SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, Cloud Security, Identity, Email Security
  • Based in the Denver area with regular on-site presence
  • Outstanding presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences
  • Proven self-starter able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated success with Fortune 1000 companies
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to influence technical decision makers and executives
  • Ability to travel frequently and participate in events
  • We build AI for a living, and we encourage candidates to use it to prep, research, and sharpen their best work. But we're hiring humans, not chatbots. We want the real you. Use AI to tighten your resume, prep for interviews, research Torq, and outline ideas for written responses. Show up as yourself for live interviews, final assessments (the voice, logic, and reasoning need to be yours), and anywhere we're evaluating how you think — not how you prompt.
  • Excited about our vision and ready to make an impact as we grow? We'd love to see what you can bring to the team.
