Description

The company is hiring a research scientist to work on generative AI for graphics and gaming, a role open to new graduates for 2026.

The work covers neural rendering, real-time image and video generation, world models, AI-driven characters, and game experiences powered by language models.

You would join the Applied Deep Learning Research team, which has built AI technologies that changed real-time graphics. GPU compute is plentiful, so you can test ambitious ideas and train large models.

Research is judged by clear gains in what players experience, not small benchmark improvements. The work spans several groups at the company and reaches products used by millions of players.

The company pioneered the GPU, which shaped PC gaming and now powers modern AI.

Responsibilities

  • Develop AI models that make real-time graphics sharper, more stable, faster and lower in latency, and that enable new interactive experiences.
  • Run large-scale pre-training and post-training of foundation models for graphics and gaming on the company's GPU infrastructure.
  • Take ownership of data pipelines and datasets for large training runs, drawn from synthetic data, in-engine captures and real-world content.
  • Prototype models for real-time image, video and 3D content generation inside modern game engines and graphics frameworks, and build demos that show benefits players can see.
  • Keep up with AI and graphics research, and work with product, driver, hardware, engine and platform teams to move promising ideas into features users see.

Requirements

  • You are working toward a PhD in computer science or engineering, electrical engineering, applied mathematics or a related field, or you have equivalent experience.
  • You have deep learning experience in image or video generation, graphics, computer vision or a related area, and a solid grasp of core deep learning fundamentals.
  • You have trained large models on multi-GPU clusters of hundreds to thousands of GPUs, built robust distributed training pipelines and debugged them at scale. Strong PyTorch skills are required.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with GPU architecture, CUDA abstractions and efficiency methods such as distillation, pruning and low-precision training or inference.
  • Nice to have: a background in graphics, such as rendering pipelines or game engines, and experience with generative models, neural rendering or reconstruction.
  • You have a record of impactful research and shipped work, such as leading publications, production features or widely used tools, and you collaborate and communicate well across functions.

Conditions

Base salary is set by location, experience and other objective job-related factors, with an expected range of 168,000 USD to 264,500 USD.

Applications are accepted at least until November 3, 2026.
