Description

The role focuses on AI for CT image formation, reconstruction and denoising.

You will help build AI-based clinical tools that improve CT image quality, make better use of radiation dose, reduce noise and advance image reconstruction, so clinicians can be more confident in their diagnoses and gain new insights.

The position is open to all genders.

Responsibilities

  • Build, put into practice and validate new AI-based methods for forming CT images, covering reconstruction and denoising of conventional, spectral and photon-counting CT data.
  • Use deep learning and wider data science methods to improve high spatial and temporal resolution reconstruction, denoising and dose reduction in CT.
  • Assess and introduce new technologies and methods within the project roadmaps you are given.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams as the subject matter expert, giving technical direction so that research results become clinically useful innovations.

Requirements

  • A master's degree in AI, data science or informatics.
  • Strong expertise in AI and data science, including CNNs, statistical and machine-learning libraries such as NumPy or PyTorch, data analytics, and AI tools or agents for analysis and prototyping.
  • Programming experience in Python and C++.
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning, such as training convolutional neural networks, preferably on medical imaging and computed tomography.
  • A clinical understanding of medical imaging, mainly CT.
  • The ability to advise cross-functional teams and stakeholders on technical matters as a subject matter expert.
  • Strong communication skills: you can explain complex technical concepts, shape technical decisions and work with colleagues across global interdisciplinary R&D teams.
  • Fluent English. German is a plus.

Conditions

You will work on-site at least 3 days a week.

The base salary range is €75.336,00 to €85.744,64, set by the applicable Collective Labour Agreement and reflecting pay progression within the relevant pay grade. New hires usually start at the entry level of that grade.

The company is a health technology company whose work is guided by patient safety and quality standards and regulatory requirements.

  • A subsidized Germany ticket and leasing options for private use of bicycles, cars and smartphones.
  • Access to a broad range of professional training courses for personal and healthcare-related development.
  • An employer-funded pension plan.
  • Two paid weeks off after your partner gives birth.
  • A discount on the company's own products.
  • Free drinks and low-priced meals in the company canteen and café.
  • An informal culture, one paid day for voluntary work, and regular team and cultural activities.
