Quality Assurance and CAD Specialist

Description

The role supports both quality assurance and computer aided design across the program's hardware and deliverable development lifecycle.

You will check that products, drawings and documents meet set quality standards, and give engineers accurate, compliant CAD files. The aim is fewer rework cycles, more reliable final products and faster engineering output.

The team works on customer missions tied to national safety.

Responsibilities

• Run inspections, verifications and quality checks on hardware, documents and deliverables.
• Check product requirements against program standards and specifications.
• Carry out test procedures and record results for validation and verification (V&V).
• Find defects, discrepancies and non-conformances, and follow each one until it is resolved.
• Propose corrective actions and process improvements.
• Work with engineering, program management and QA leadership to keep quality consistent through each development cycle.
• Build and revise 2D and 3D CAD models, assemblies and engineering drawings.
• Produce shop drawings, design documents and layouts for fabrication and prototyping.
• Make sure CAD output meets industry standards, program specifications and configuration management rules.
• Check drawings for accuracy, completeness and compliance with technical requirements.
• Turn engineers' concept designs into finished CAD files.

Requirements

• Hands-on use of PTC Creo Parametric and Windchill PLM to build, audit and release complex 3D parametric models and detailed 2D assembly drawings that follow ASME Y14.100 and military data standards.
• Solid knowledge of MIL-STD-31000 and proven experience creating, structuring and maintaining Technical Data Package (TDP) items such as 3D models, 2D drawings, bills of materials (BOMs) and specifications, using PTC Creo and Windchill.
• Understanding of engineering principles, drafting standards, material specifications and fabrication methods.
• Experience running QA procedures, inspections, audits or test plans.
• Able to read, interpret and produce technical drawings, schematics and documentation.
• 3-5 years combined in CAD design or drafting and quality assurance, or at least 2 years in each.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Strong attention to detail in both QA records and CAD output.
• Analytical, solution-minded approach to spotting problems and recommending fixes.
• Clear communication across teams.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and set priorities in a fast-moving program.
• Preferred: experience supporting hardware, prototyping or engineering development environments.
• Preferred: familiarity with configuration management and quality documentation practices.
• Preferred: experience on DoD or government engineering programs.
• Preferred: knowledge of test methods, inspection plans and quality management systems.
• Preferred: ability to take part in design reviews and offer CAD and QA input.

Conditions

Full-time, regular position.

Minimum clearance to start: TS/SCI with polygraph.

Travel up to 10%, within the continental US.

Proposed salary range: $63,300 to $129,700 USD.

Actual pay depends on factors such as geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
