Principal / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer

Description

The company's defense systems group is hiring a Principal or Senior Principal Systems Engineer, based in Huntsville, AL or Bellevue, NE.

The team builds, integrates, and improves several software and network products for a long-running counter-unmanned aerial system program that supplies tactical ground equipment.

Responsibilities

• Write and run software test plans and procedures.
• Build automated and manual test solutions for embedded and application software.
• Review requirements and turn them into test cases, scenarios, and scripts.
• Connect hardware, software, and test equipment to test complete systems.
• Log and follow defects, and work with developers to close them.
• Take part in requirements reviews, design reviews, and code inspections.
• Confirm that solutions meet quality, safety, and compliance standards.
• Support verification, validation, integration, and acceptance work.
• Work alongside engineers from several disciplines.
• Expect CONUS travel of up to 20% of the time, which may be required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience, for the Principal level.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience, for the Senior Principal level.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Experience working with Linux.
• Ability to write or run SQL queries for data analysis or database management.
• Prior work with embedded systems, avionics, or defense systems.
• Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
• Knowledge of Agile development processes.
• Ability to work on-site in Huntsville.

Conditions

Secret clearance is required before start.

Travel is 10% of the time.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Primary level base salary range is $98,400.00 to $163,200.00.

Secondary level base salary range is $122,800.00 to $203,600.00.

The salary range is a general guideline. Final base pay depends on factors such as the scope of the role, the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, you may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus on top of base pay.
