Description

The company makes memory and storage products for the semiconductor market.

The Run-to-Run (R2R) Engineering team builds, rolls out and tunes advanced process control solutions used in chip fabrication.

The team works with Process Engineering, Process Integration, Equipment Engineering and Manufacturing to lift process capability, quality, yield, throughput and efficiency across the fab.

R2R engineers also align control strategies across sites worldwide and help improve the company's manufacturing systems.

In this role you keep R2R control solutions performing well and stable, using statistics, control theory, software and data analysis to fix process problems and support product ramps. Much of the work involves global teams and rolling out standard control methods at several plants.

Responsibilities

  • Build, roll out, maintain and tune R2R control strategies in E3 software and the company's information systems to raise capability, quality, yield and efficiency.
  • Study process and manufacturing data with statistical methods and SPC to find ways to cut variation and improve Cpk.
  • Work with Process Engineering, Process Integration, Manufacturing and R2R teams worldwide on controller upgrades, bug fixes, version alignment and shared best-known methods.
  • Support live process control systems by troubleshooting communication faults, joining excursion reviews, and taking part in engineering projects and on-call coverage when needed.
  • Write training material, documentation and user guides, and use AI tools, including agentic AI, to speed up analysis, problem solving, knowledge sharing and daily engineering work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in control theory, control systems, automation and control engineering, or a closely related engineering field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of semiconductor processes and control concepts, including open-loop and closed-loop, model predictive, linear and nonlinear control.
  • Hands-on experience with statistical data analysis, capability improvement methods and SPC.
  • Skilled in Python and SQL scripting, ideally in manufacturing or automation settings.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills, and a collaborative approach.
  • Preferred: Experience building, rolling out or supporting R2R control strategies in E3 software within a chip fab.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with semiconductor metrology, inspection, defect detection, failure analysis and process integration.
  • Preferred: Work with databases, data visualization, graphical programming and manufacturing information systems.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of structured problem solving such as Six Sigma, 8D and root cause analysis.
  • Preferred: Use of AI, agentic AI, LLMs or AI-assisted engineering to improve workflow, data interpretation, automation and decisions.
