Description

The company builds network security policy control software for enterprises that run firewalls from several vendors alongside cloud security groups and microsegmentation tools.

Policy defines what the environment should do, and the infrastructure carries it out. The product lets security teams view, govern, and verify that policy across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.

This is a hands-on software development role. You will help gather requirements, write technical specifications, design and code features, and take part in testing and deployment with a team that works closely together.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Management, Development, and other engineers to install and support firewall management solutions for internal research and development.
  • Apply technical knowledge during application development for products from multiple vendors, including firewalls, routers, switches, IPS devices, proxies, and others.
  • Build and maintain test labs, help with software design, and assist developers technically.
  • Help test software solutions.
  • Collect technical requirements for integrating with security devices by reading administrator, user, and CLI guides.
  • Study how each security device works internally and turn that logic into a structure the application can use.
  • Work with product managers, architects, and developers to plan, architect, and design integrations with security devices.
  • Set up, manage, and maintain security devices in the test lab to support R&D and integration testing.
  • Write and run test cases to confirm the application's code works correctly.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex support issues involving device integration.
  • Write internal knowledge base articles on known configurations to help resolve support issues.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of network design and support experience.
  • Expertise in Cisco, Check Point, Juniper, and Palo Alto products.
  • Strong knowledge of networking and/or security.
  • Experience with packet trace and analysis techniques and tools.
  • Experience with network security tools such as firewalls, IPS, routers, switches, and proxies.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies and platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to turn a business requirement into a technical solution.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with several roles at once, and high emotional intelligence.
  • Experience with regular expressions.
  • Flexibility to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others.
