Member of Technical Staff, (Software Engineer, Experience)

Description

The Core Experience team turns AI capabilities and research into one cohesive, intuitive web app that millions of people use every day. The team works closely with product design to imagine and build the interfaces people use to experience AI.

The company is looking for a frontend engineer who cares deeply about web craft. You will help shape how people work with AI agents, defining mental models, interaction patterns and ways of showing state. You will prototype, architect and build new interfaces alongside designers.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship web interfaces that are polished, carefully crafted and easy to use
• Keep improving the most visible parts of the product, such as agent chat threads, artifact editing and message composition
• Work directly with designers to turn early concepts into working production code
• Solve harder problems in architecture, state management, animation and performance
• Work with the capabilities and research teams to bring new research into stable product experiences
• Design reusable libraries and SDKs that help other product teams keep quality high across the product

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of modern web technologies such as React, TypeScript and CSS
• Very high standards for detail, from visual design to performance and code quality
• Able to own projects from start to finish, moving quickly in an unclear setting where the industry changes daily
• Good product judgment: you can tell what will work and what will not, and explain why
• A strong focus on customers, with constant attention to how your work will affect the person using it
