Description

If you want to build B2B SaaS, click the back arrow in the top left.

The company Supply is an AI-native industrial distributor. Our agents sell the pipes, valves, and fittings that go into American data centers, fabs and power plants.

We’re rebuilding the industrial distribution industry from the ground up, and we’re looking for a software engineer who gets things done and doesn’t take “I’ll get back to you” for an answer.

We care about results, ownership, and hunger.

Think high-frequency trading, but for physical goods. Every RFQ that hits our inbox is a market signal. The company that reads it, sources it, prices it, and quotes it fastest wins. We’re building the agent infrastructure that does this at machine speed, across thousands of vendors and parts, with humans only where they add real value.

Responsibilities

  • This is a Founding Software Engineer role for the company Supply. You’ll build the core agent infrastructure that runs our business: RFQ in, vendor sourcing, pricing, quote out, order, fulfillment. Today a lot of that is humans on the phone.
  • You’ll ship fast, own what you ship, and work side by side with ops and sales, who are your users and your harshest critics. You’ll be in person in San Francisco, building from scratch.
  • Design and build the agent systems that parse RFQs, source parts, collect vendor quotes, and price and send quotes, with no human in the loop wherever possible.
  • Build the orchestration layer: agents that call, email, and chase vendors, track state across thousands of concurrent orders, and escalate only when needed.
  • Own latency and reliability. Quote speed is our moat, so every second counts.
  • Build the data backbone: vendor catalogs, price history, lead times, part specs, certs, and order records, all clean, structured, and trustworthy.
  • Build evals and guardrails so agents catch the wrong thread pitch, material grade, or quantity before anything ships. One wrong digit on a part number is a wrong shipment.
  • Integrate with ERPs, email, phone, and vendor systems, whatever it takes to close the loop.
  • Instrument everything. Measure margin, win rate, and cycle time, then use that data to make the agents better every week.

Requirements

  • Strong engineer who has shipped production systems end to end and owns outcomes, not tickets.
  • Experience building with LLMs and agents: tool use, orchestration, evals, and failure handling in the real world.
  • Systems thinking. You care about latency, concurrency, state, and reliability, and you think in terms of throughput.
  • Obsessively detail-oriented. Messy real-world data doesn’t scare you, you want to clean it.
  • Fast. You ship in days, not quarters, and you’re comfortable making calls with incomplete information.
  • Calm under pressure when something breaks and a customer’s job is on the line.
  • Self-motivated and accountable. You don’t need hand-holding.
  • Excited by building something new rather than being managed at a big company.
  • No prior industrial or distribution experience required. We’ll teach you the industry. You’ll learn it fastest by sitting next to the people doing the work.
  • Why You Should Join
  • Ground Floor Ownership: You’re defining the core architecture of the company, not maintaining someone else’s.
  • Immediate Impact: What you build directly decides our margins, our speed, and whether customers reorder.
  • Fast Growth: There’s no fixed ladder. Perform and you can take on as much as you can handle.
  • Short Cycle: An RFQ becomes a quote the same day and a delivered order within weeks. You see your results fast, in production, with real customers.
  • Experience: Any (new grads ok)
  • Visa: US citizen/visa only
