Description

Company Description

We’re Checkout.com . You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we’re behind many of the digital experiences you use every day.

We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion global shoppers.

Whether you want to book a holiday, order food, renew a subscription, or check out online, there’s a good chance our tech powers the payments behind the scenes. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale.

If you want to do career-defining work, you’ve come to the right place. We move fast, think globally, and believe great teams are built by hiring exceptional people with conviction, curiosity, and the desire to make an impact.

With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we’re shaping the future of fintech – and we’re just getting started.

At Checkout.com , we create marketing that moves people to choose our products, builds a brand where great marketers want to work, and fuels the growth of our business.

We’re looking for a GTM Engineer to join Marketing and help transform how we work internally. You’ll design and build AI-assisted workflows, agents and integrations that reduce manual effort, improve how information moves across the team and give marketers more time to focus on high-value work.

Marketing Operations Team owns our marketing technology and tools, and the automation that supports go-to-market execution across our channels. This role works alongside Marketing Operations, with a different starting focus: improving the internal processes, workflows and systems that help Marketing plan and deliver its work. The aim is to 10x our impact.

This is a hands-on technical role in a marketing team. You’ll spend around 70% of your time building: understanding how work gets done, finding where it is manual or breaking down, and shipping practical solutions. You’ll partner closely with Marketing Operations to make sure what you build fits our existing tools and standards.

You’ll work across Marketing, in close partnerships across Marketing Operations, Commercial AI Transformation and the AI Centre of Excellence. You’ll bring a clear technical point of view on what is scalable and reliable, while making sure the systems you build are useful to the people who need them.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Find the problems worth solving

Work with teams across Marketing to understand their processes and the work behind their requests. Map workflows, identify manual effort, duplicated work, missing context and avoidable errors, then prioritise opportunities based on their potential value. You’ll use your creativity and judgement rather than simply build to a ticket.

Build AI-assisted workflows and integrations

Create and ship agents, automations, skills and integrations that make internal marketing work easier. You might use Claude Enterprise, Copilot Studio, Clay, MCP connectors, coding agents or other tools across our marketing stack. Work with Marketing Operations when a solution involves our marketing technology or channel tools.

Make internal marketing work more efficient

Build workflows that help teams do the work behind marketing more efficiently, from briefing, research and insight gathering to planning, content development and hand-offs. Connect information and tools so people spend less time on repetitive coordination and more time on work that needs their expertise. Partner with Marketing Operations where workflows touch marketing technology or channel execution.

Build systems people can rely on

Design beyond the individual task. Consider the data, context, tools, users, hand-offs, controls and feedback loops a workflow needs to work well. Identify where information is missing, where an agent needs better direction or where teams need support to use and improve the system.

Help marketers build with AI

Work alongside marketers to show what is possible and help them use AI with confidence. Create reusable patterns, skills, playbooks and guardrails so teams can solve more problems themselves and repeat good practice.

Test, learn and improve

Prototype and test workflows, learn from how people use them, and improve or retire them based on the results. Identify design, security, privacy, brand and scale risks early, and follow our AI governance and review processes.

Keep up with the tools

Stay curious about new models, coding tools, connectors and agent patterns. Be able to explain which tools are right for a particular job and why, whether you’re comparing Claude, ChatGPT, coding agents or emerging platforms.

Requirements

  • You build things
  • You’ve made working automations, prototypes, integrations, agents, internal tools or products, and enjoy taking a messy problem through to something people can use. Your job title matters less than what you’ve built and the value it creates.
  • You use AI hands-on
  • You use LLMs to get work done, not just to talk about what they could do. You’re comfortable prototyping with AI coding tools, testing different approaches, debugging and improving the result. You can show us something you’ve built with Claude, Codex, ChatGPT or another LLM platform, at work or in your own time.
  • You can reason about systems, APIs, data flows, permissions and failure modes. You understand the difference between a promising demo and a dependable workflow. You don’t need a traditional software engineering background, but you do need to be comfortable working directly with technical tools and making sensible implementation choices.
  • You understand marketing and GTM
  • You understand how demand generation, growth, customer marketing, marketing operations, sales and revenue processes connect. You’re familiar with concepts such as campaign briefs, segmentation, ABM, lead scoring, MQLs, MQAs, pipeline, attribution and lifecycle stages. You’re interested in the business outcomes behind the work.
  • You’ve worked across marketing or RevOps tools
  • You’ve built or supported workflows across platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Asana, Clay or similar tools. You can think across a stack rather than optimise one tool in isolation, and you’re comfortable with connectors, APIs, webhooks or MCP-style integrations.
  • You know how to design useful workflows and agents
  • You can give a workflow the context it needs, choose the right tools, define hand-offs, involve people at the right points and make outputs easy to review. You understand that an agent’s performance depends on its data and operating environment as well as the model.
  • You prioritise for value
  • You can judge which problems are worth solving, which should remain manual and where a simpler answer will work better. You balance speed, quality, risk, maintainability and commercial impact, and can make a clear case for what to build next.
  • You measure and improve your work
  • You’re comfortable defining success measures, tracking usage and output, and deciding what to improve, stop or scale. You care about measurable gains in productivity, quality, speed or business impact.
  • You think in systems
  • You look for the process behind the immediate pain point. When a spreadsheet is difficult to use, for example, you’re curious about the data, decisions and hand-offs that created it, and what would make the process work better. You can hold the bigger picture while working through the details needed to ship.
  • You communicate clearly and bring people with you
  • You can explain technical ideas to marketers, commercial leaders, Product, Engineering, Security, IT and Operations in a way that helps them make decisions. You listen well, communicate simply and influence through your work and judgement.
  • You’re curious and self-starting
  • You’re comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to learn. You’ve taught yourself new tools, built something outside your formal remit or pursued a technical interest in your own time. A personal project, prototype, automation, community contribution or other example could show us how you learn.
  • You use AI responsibly
  • You understand that marketing systems need to be accurate, secure, explainable and aligned with our brand and company standards. You know when people need to review an output, when data should not be used and when an experiment is not ready to scale.
  • You might come from marketing technology, marketing operations, growth engineering, RevOps, automation engineering, product, full-stack engineering or another technical role close to commercial teams. What matters most is your curiosity about marketing, your judgement about what is worth improving and your ability to build practical solutions.
  • Additional Information
  • Bring all of you to work
  • We create the conditions for high performers to thrive, through real ownership, fewer blockers, and work that makes a difference from day one.
  • Here, you’ll move fast, take on meaningful challenges, and be recognized for the impact you deliver. It’s a place where ambition gets met with opportunity, and where your growth is in your hands.
  • We work as one team, and we back each other to succeed. So whatever your background or identity, if you’re ready to grow and make a difference, you’ll be right at home here.
  • It’s important we set you up for success and make our process as accessible as possible. So let us know in your application, or tell your recruiter directly, if you need anything to make your experience or working environment more comfortable.
