Description

The role is a Lead Analyst position on the AML prevention side of the financial crime team, working with the product teams on data-led decisions about growth and about stopping financial crime.

The company is a global technology company that moves and manages money across borders for individuals and businesses, including sending money abroad, spending overseas and taking international payments.

The AML team has to stay ahead of money laundering while keeping the experience smooth for customers, so controls must improve security without adding friction.

This is an IC3 role, and the Analytics Career Map and levelling structure apply.

Responsibilities

  • Make the large volume of process data available to product teams in a clear, actionable form they can use on their own, without needing an analyst for each question.
  • Own key metrics and results for your product and operations teams, track them through the quarter and hold the teams to them.
  • Work with data scientists to design and build methods for detecting and reducing financial crime.
  • Help build the framework that manages risk and customer experience as the business scales.
  • Lead discovery by scoping new opportunities and proposing features, rules and models for emerging risks.
  • Collaborate with product, data science, engineering and operations.

Requirements

  • Strong quantitative skills, ideally from statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering or another scientific field.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to turn business problems into analytical solutions.
  • The ability to frame business problems with little supervision, set your own priorities and reduce complex systems to simple models.
  • A hands-on approach: you take analysis further and get work over the line.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Looker, Power BI or Tableau, and the ability to tell a story with data.

Conditions

Equal opportunity: the company welcomes people of every background and values diverse, inclusive teams.

Benefits

  • Work on a mission to change a system many people find costly and unfair, giving people and businesses more control over their money.
  • Use large, complex datasets from millions of customers and a global payments infrastructure to find untapped value.
  • Influence the team's direction, since analysts help decide what the team works on.
  • Learn from a large, diverse global group of analysts, data scientists and product managers.
