Lead Platform Architect

Description

The company is a Fortune 10 business that works across much of healthcare, offering insights, products and services aimed at making good care easier to reach and more affordable.

The team is part of the technology group and is hiring a lead platform architect to set architecture direction and provide technical leadership across cloud-native, customer-facing and enterprise platforms.

You will work with business, product, engineering, security and operations teams to build solutions that scale, stay secure and recover well, supporting digital transformation and growth.

The best fit has deep architecture experience along with hands-on work in cloud platforms, API ecosystems, digital commerce, contact center technology, event-driven systems and AI-enabled solutions.

You will set enterprise standards, shape technology roadmaps and guide strategic initiatives across a complex technology estate.

Responsibilities

• Set enterprise architecture strategy, target-state roadmaps and modernization plans for cloud and digital platforms.
• Lead the design of Azure cloud solutions, APIs, microservices, event-driven systems and enterprise applications.
• Work with engineering teams to define cloud-native patterns, platform engineering standards and Kubernetes adoption approaches.
• Promote API-first and composable designs that make systems more scalable, flexible and agile for the business.
• Design customer experience solutions using Salesforce, commerce platforms, contact center tools and digital experience ecosystems.
• Shape how AI/ML and generative AI capabilities are built into enterprise products, workflows and customer experiences.
• Build security into designs through identity management, Zero Trust principles, governance and compliance controls.
• Mentor architects and engineering leaders, and influence technical decisions across several initiatives and business areas.

Requirements

• At least 10 years in software engineering, solution architecture, enterprise architecture or cloud architecture.
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience designing and delivering large-scale cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Experience building API-driven, microservices-based and event-driven architectures in large environments.
• Experience leading architecture for customer-facing digital platforms, enterprise applications and integration ecosystems.
• A track record of setting architecture standards, governance processes and technology roadmaps.
• Solid grasp of security architecture, identity and access management, resiliency and compliance.
• Ability to explain architecture strategy and technical decisions clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
• Optional: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or a comparable cloud certification.
• Optional: Experience with Kubernetes, container platforms, platform engineering, Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation.
• Optional: Skill in DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, observability, reliability engineering and operational excellence.
• Optional: Experience with Salesforce, digital experience platforms, commerce solutions and contact center technologies.
• Optional: Knowledge of data architecture, analytics engineering, search platforms and data-driven decision frameworks.
• Optional: Experience designing AI/ML, generative AI, intelligent automation and agentic architecture solutions.
• Optional: Knowledge of TOGAF, C4 modeling, enterprise architecture frameworks and architectural governance.
• Optional: Experience leading large transformation programs across several business domains and technology portfolios.

Conditions

Base pay range is €82,500 to €137,500.

Pay depends on performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market reviews and geographic market.

Pay will always comply with applicable regulations.

Annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may also be offered in addition to base pay.
