Who We Are Looking For
This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role, with the expectation that you'll help build out the function over time. You'll own how Rocket.Chat's product shows up in the market: what we say about it, who we say it to, and how sales and partners bring it to customers. We're looking for a self-starter who's comfortable in a fast-paced, still-evolving environment — someone who thrives on change and demonstrates strong resilience. Our buyers are a narrow and specific set. Defense programs and intelligence agencies running classified, air-gapped, and DDIL networks. NATO bodies and European ministries of defence. The federal system integrators and primes who embed us in the solutions they deliver to governments. National ministries, EU institutions, and UK central government departments that cannot put sensitive data in commercial SaaS. For this mission, you'll work closely with Product, Sales, and the rest of the Marketing team.
Mandatory Hard Skills
At least 5 years in product marketing at a B2B or enterprise software company, owning messaging, positioning, and product launches end-to-end. We care more about what you've shipped and how it performed than the exact number on your resume — a strong track record with a bit less tenure is a real option.
Experience running product marketing at early-stage, growth-stage software start-ups.
A track record of translating technical product capabilities into clear, credible messaging for both technical and business buyers.
Experience building sales and partner enablement content that actually gets used.
Comfort working cross-functionally with Product, Sales, and Partner teams, and owning outcomes.
The ability to sit at the crossroads of Product, Sales, Partners, and Marketing, build alignment across them, and influence decisions that move the business forward.
The ability to get genuinely fluent in highly technical product concepts (security architecture, deployment models, compliance frameworks) and in the technical audiences we sell to.
Strong writing — you can move between a one-pager, a battle card, and a customer story without losing our voice.
A resilient self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced, low-hierarchy environment. You thrive with change because it means progress.
Ability to prioritize high impact projects while juggling requests from multiple parts of the business. You’re comfortable saying no and questioning the why behind a request before committing to a deliverable.
Desirable Hard Skills
Experience in security, government, defense, critical infrastructure, or secure communications — this is a huge plus given our ICP, but not a requirement.
Experience with analyst relations or peer-review programs.
Familiarity with open-source go-to-market models.
Soft Skills
Passion: Genuine enthusiasm for what you do and how it contributes to our company's mission.
Dream: Proactively seek out opportunities and challenges to achieve extraordinary results. If you're someone who takes initiative and is always striving to improve, you'll fit right in.
Own: Take ownership of your work, set high standards for yourself, and be accountable for outcomes demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and commitment.
Trust: Recognizing the importance of trust and support and actively working towards a collaborative and inclusive workplace.
Share: Communicating openly and transparently, ensures clarity and honesty in interactions.
