Head of Credit Production Engineering

Description

This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Head of Fixed Income and Currencies (FIC) Production and Reliability Engineering.

You will lead global credit production engineering across FIC Technology, a globally distributed team, helping deliver the strategic vision while staying accountable for day-to-day production stability.

Seniority and influence matter here: you will engage executive stakeholders, set standards and guide a global team with efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead global production stability for the credit business, aligning engineering priorities with business goals, regulatory expectations and platform resilience targets.
• Bring modern Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices in, moving the team from reactive support to a proactive, data-driven, automation-first discipline.
• Strengthen platform robustness by challenging and reviewing architectures, shaping tooling strategy, and setting the example in incident response, post-incident analysis and risk reduction.
• Act as a senior partner to the Head of Credit Trading, credit desk leads, technology executives and adjacent business stakeholders, keeping communication open, priorities aligned and accountability shared for platform performance and health.
• Build up and mentor a high-performing global SRE-aligned team, encouraging ownership, technical excellence, curiosity and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Experience in incident management, post-mortem and problem management, change governance, and working in regulated financial environments.
• Strong technical skills in Linux/Unix, SQL, and C++, Java, Python or similar scripting languages, with a solid grasp of distributed systems, low-latency architectures, APIs and event-driven architecture.
• Hands-on work with observability and telemetry tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Geneos or OpenTelemetry, and with infrastructure automation such as Ansible, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud, containers, Kubernetes, Docker and modern deployment methods.
• Proven ability to use AI tools to improve productivity and streamline workflows to solve business problems, applying sound judgment to use data and AI outputs responsibly and ethically.
• Leadership experience running SRE or production engineering functions in complex, highly available, real-time environments, ideally in capital markets.
• Experience in a trading environment, with knowledge of pricing, trade capture, market data flows and fixed income products. Exposure to foreign exchange or algorithmic and electronic trading at large scale is an advantage.

Conditions

This role is based in the New York office under the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range in New York City is $170,000 to $308,000. Actual pay depends on factors such as skills, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. The range excludes incentive compensation and any other remuneration.
