Description

What We Do:

Florence software advances cures by helping the world’s most important research sites do their best work. By the end of the decade, we’ll double the pace at which new medicines get to market by doubling the output of trial site teams. To date, we were named a Deloitte Fast 50 business, G2 Category Leader, an Inc. & AJC best place to work, and an Inc. 5000 company five years in a row.

At Florence, we are committed to make the world a better place by accelerating research while providing an environment for our employees where they can be happy in their lives, enjoy their jobs, and grow.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

We're passionate about making it easy for our customers to contribute to research and find cures. That mission drives us to build intuitive, reliable products and to cultivate a high-performing, collaborative product team. We build the digital connective tissue that governs how Sponsors, CROs (Contract Research Organizations), and Research Sites interact, share data, and collaborate.

The Group Product Manager (GPM) holds end-to-end ownership of one full side of Florence's business - spanning strategy and portfolio decisions, planning and delivery, and the outcomes that side of the business ultimately produces. This is not a role limited to managing a team of Product Managers: the GPM is the owner of outcomes - defining the vision and strategy for the full portfolio of products under their remit, aligning it with company-wide business goals, and being accountable for that side of the business growing and delivering value to both customers and the company.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio & Business Ownership
  • Defines the long-term vision and strategy for the full side of the business/portfolio of products under their remit, aligned with broader company goals.
  • Builds and manages the portfolio-level roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on business impact, resourcing, and market needs.
  • Tracks market trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory context (life sciences / clinical research) to inform strategic decisions.
  • Represents the voice of the customer and the market at the portfolio level, ensuring products genuinely solve user problems.
  • Is accountable for the business outcomes of that side of the business - growth, adoption, retention, and other key metrics.
  • Stays current on AI/ML trends in health tech and bring forward-thinking perspectives to the team
  • Team Leadership & Development
  • Leads and mentors a team of Product Managers, providing regular coaching on product decisions, prioritization, stakeholder management, and delivery.
  • Guides team members in navigating ambiguity, identifying next steps, and strengthening their decision-making muscle.
  • Serves as a dedicated line manager - owning performance management, career development, and growth planning for the team.
  • Sets goals and tracks execution through clear frameworks and dashboards, at both the team and individual level.
  • Portfolio Execution & Delivery
  • Partners closely with Design, Engineering, QA, and other functions to drive smooth, predictable delivery across the portfolio.
  • Establishes and refines planning, development, and release rhythms that improve speed and quality.
  • Coordinates release management processes, ensuring timelines are met and stakeholders are prepared.
  • Identifies and removes delivery bottlenecks, and strengthens feedback loops between product, engineering, and quality.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Alignment
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for Customer Success, Support, Sales, Marketing, and Finance on matters related to their side of the business.
  • Collects and synthesizes input from go-to-market teams to inform planning, release readiness, and strategic alignment.
  • Manages budget and resources within the portfolio and optimizes their allocation.
  • Collaborates with other senior product leaders at Florence, helping shape product culture and the company's strategic direction.
  • Performance Measurement & Data-Informed Decisions
  • Defines and tracks key metrics (KPIs) across the owned portfolio and uses them to inform decisions.
  • Drives the adoption and evolution of product management tooling for planning, analytics, and execution
  • Establishes methods to track product health, usage trends, and adoption.
  • Contributes to process efficiency across the product organization, supporting scale without added complexity.
  • An Ideal Candidate Has:
  • 8+ years of experience in B2B SaaS product management, including 2+ years managing Product Managers.
  • Experience owning a portfolio or a substantial product area, with clear accountability for business outcomes (growth, retention, revenue, etc.).
  • Track record of developing PMs and guiding them through execution and stakeholder alignment.
  • Experience leading product strategy, release processes, and agile product development at scale using AI tools.
  • Experience defining and evolving internal product practices, systems, and tooling to drive organizational consistency.
  • Familiarity with OKRs and working within structured planning cycles across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of product analytics practices, tools, and frameworks for decision-making and tracking success.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
  • Experience working with engineering, QA, and cross-functional go-to-market teams.
  • Experience in healthcare, life sciences in general and clinical trials in particular. Experience in regulated software environments (e.g., 21 CFR Part 11)
  • Strong understanding of healthcare processes, terminology, and compliance considerations, gained directly or via the productization of expert input.
  • Role Impact
  • This role carries end-to-end ownership of one full side of Florence's business - from strategy through to results. Beyond leading a product team, the GPM shapes the systems and processes that underpin product excellence across their portfolio, directly influencing how Florence scales, and how the company delivers value to customers and the business.
