Description

ABOUT GLIMPSE

Glimpse is the leading AI platform for CPG brands — automating critical back-office workflows like deductions management, revenue recovery, and cash application. Since launching in April 2024, we've grown from 0 to 200+ customers, raised $52M from investors including a16z, 8VC and Y Combinator.

Our AI agents retrieve deduction data, validate charges, automate cash application, and dispute invalid claims — work that would take a full-time employee years to complete. For a $1B CPG brand, a single Glimpse agent reviewed 17,000 deductions in under 24 hours, identifying over $10M in recoverable revenue.

We're building the next-generation suite of services for consumer brands and are looking for exceptional people to help us scale.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Founding Forward Deployment Engineer. You'll sit at the point where customer reality meets our product: messy ERPs, undocumented data, and asks that sound simple until you dig in. You'll turn that ambiguity into working, well-built software. You'll also define what the FDE function looks like as it grows. The integration patterns, validation standards, and ways of working you set up will outlast any single customer.

Responsibilities

  • Own customer problems end to end. Take a vague customer ask and drive it to a shipped solution without waiting for a spec. Pick up the work nobody assigned when it matters.
  • Find the real problem. Look past what customers literally request to what will actually make them successful. Turn scattered and conflicting feedback into a clear product direction the team can build against.
  • Build data integrations that hold up. Move and reconcile SKU, inventory, transaction, and invoice data across legacy systems and modern data stacks. Handle undocumented sources, partial data, backfills, and idempotent reprocessing as a matter of course.
  • Design patterns that scale. Build integration approaches that work across customers and ERPs, not one-off scripts. Plan for failure modes, scale, and future change before they force your hand.
  • Make correctness a first-class requirement. Build validation, exception handling, and reconciliation into every workflow, especially where AI touches financial data. Know when an AI step shouldn't be used. Help define how Glimpse proves AI-driven outputs to customers and auditors.
  • Set the bar for good code. Write clean, correct software. Use AI dev tools as a core part of how you work. Reason openly about tradeoffs.
  • Make others better. Unblock teammates, mentor, and build alignment across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering, with real time spent in customer-facing, solutions, or forward-deployed work
  • Hands-on experience with data pipelines and integrations against financial or operational systems (ERPs, accounting, inventory, order management)
  • Comfort with messy, legacy, and undocumented data sources
  • A track record of owning ambiguous projects from first conversation to production
  • Strong instincts for testing, validation, and auditability, plus a healthy skepticism about where AI belongs in a financial workflow
  • Daily use of AI-assisted development tools
  • Clear communication in conversation, writing, code, and design docs. You can explain your own code to a peer and a strategy to a skeptical customer.
  • Low ego and high standards. You give and take feedback well, handle disagreement constructively, and share credit freely.
  • Experience building with LLMs.
  • Technologies:
  • Python, Node.js, Next.js
  • MongoDB, PostgreSQL
  • Experience with retail, CPG, supply chain, or finance-ops data
  • Prior early-stage or founding-team experience
  • Familiarity with reconciliation or audit requirements for financial data

Benefits

  • You'll join a company that has found genuine product-market fit and is scaling fast — with the infrastructure, capital, and team to match. Your work will directly shape how hundreds of CPG brands run their back office. And you'll have real ownership.
  • Competitive salary with meaningful equity
  • In-person team in NYC – high ownership, fast feedback loops
  • Direct impact on a company growing at an exceptional pace
  • A front-row seat to building the operating system for CPG brands
