Founding Data Scientist

The role puts data at the center of how the company builds and improves its products. You will work with Product, Engineering and Machine Learning to measure how changes to models, agents and features affect real results. That means defining useful metrics, designing experiments and running deeper analyses of how agents create value for clients. Work ranges from reviewing A/B tests and model changes to analyzing millions of conversations and workflows, and your findings will shape product and ML plans.

Responsibilities

• Set up and monitor metrics at the product, feature and agent level.
• Design, run and interpret A/B tests for models, prompts, agent behavior, workflows and features.
• Measure how agent performance changes client outcomes, including task completion, operational efficiency, response quality and automation rates.
• Link offline model evaluations to live performance and real customer impact.
• Run deep analyses of conversations, workflows and product usage to find opportunities and explain performance gaps.
• Investigate anomalies and regressions, find root causes and recommend fixes.
• Build statistical models, simulations and analytical frameworks for product and ML decisions.
• Work with Engineering to improve instrumentation, data quality, experimentation systems and data models.
• Build dashboards and self-serve tools so teams can see product and agent performance.
• Explain findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• At least 4 years in data science, product analytics or another highly quantitative product role.
• Solid experience with experimental design, A/B testing, statistics, causal inference and hypothesis-driven analysis.
• Advanced SQL and Python skills.
• Experience defining and running product and feature metrics.
• Ability to turn vague product questions into rigorous analysis and clear recommendations.
• Good product judgment, able to tell statistical significance from real product or customer impact.
• Experience working closely with Product, Engineering or Machine Learning teams.
• Strong written and spoken communication.
• Careful attention to detail and a commitment to accurate analysis.
• Founder mindset: ownership, independence, curiosity and a willingness to dig deep.
• Experience with large language models, AI agents, generative AI or other probabilistic ML products.
• Experience measuring the production impact of model, prompt, retrieval or orchestration changes.
• Understanding of ML evaluation systems and how offline evaluations relate to online metrics.
• Experience analyzing conversational, NLP, speech or other unstructured data.
• Experience with enterprise or B2B products.
• Experience combining quantitative work with qualitative methods such as conversation reviews, customer feedback, surveys or user research.
• Familiarity with modern analytics infrastructure, data warehouses, experimentation platforms and BI tools.
• Prior work in a fast-growing startup or other highly ambiguous setting.
